Role Summary
 

The Flutter Group Finance Business Intelligence and Analytics team is the source of truth for financial figures used throughout the organisation, covering statutory, tax, management, flash and regulatory reporting.

The team acts as a bridge between Data and Finance, and the position will require a deep understanding of Flutter products and their revenue streams, with the ability to interpret and translate these into data definitions.  In addition, input into developing and delivering a coherent and consistent business intelligence strategy globally will be necessary.

The files delivered as part of our global revenue model are the key product of the Finance BI team, and this manager role will ensure that all inputs and outputs of the model are built in an accurate and complete manner. The successful candidate will gain an understanding for these processes and lead a team of analysts to deliver key projects as part of an ongoing financial transformation project.


Key Responsibilities

  • Understanding of how the revenue files are built and ensuring the processes for all parts of the pipeline are as efficient as possible.
  • Building relationships with key stakeholder groups, including Group Financial Control, Client Funds, Data Engineering and the Operations team within Finance BI.
  • Principal point of contact within the modelling team for data warehouse migrations across all of the Flutter brands that we deliver revenue for.
  • Ensure that all of our processes are SOX compliant, working with the Operations team to ensure key controls are in place.
  • Oversee key projects related to Polaris, particularly re-writing revenue files for new global revenue model, as well as UKI data migations.
  • Understand the data flows within, and between, Flutter products and wallets (including how these relate to revenue generation) to enable meaningful review and insight into data quality controls and investigations.
  • Own business relationships with key stakeholders, including Data Engineering and Financial
  • Manage and develop a team of amalysts, providing technical assistance and cross training to team members.
  • Input into developing and delivering a coherent and consistent business intelligence strategy globally, intersecting Group and Divisional levels.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong educational background
  • Experience leading data projects
  • Knowledge of Financial process and SOX Controls
  • Understanding of SQL writing, modelling and querying relational databases.
  • Experience of leading a team within a large organisation.
  • An interest in sports and betting
  • Professional and positive approach, combined with good time management, organisational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Proactivity and innovation – capacity to take the initiative to identify improvements in process and assist management in implementation.
  • Communication skills are important, with the ability to communicate both within the team and to members of the wider business both essential.
