This pivotal role requires a seasoned professional capable of providing strategic financial leadership, effective business partnering and driving transformation across Flutter. As the Head of Finance: Business Partnering you will be instrumental in driving efficiencies and identifying opportunities to increase return on investment, driving value creation across the group and forming business partnerships with the Flutter divisions. You will be required to partner with Group ExCo members including the CFO, CPAO and CLO as they lead and transform their functions, acting as a robust and practical sounding board as they drive returns across the Flutter Group and optimize their cost base. You will report directly to the Finance Director: Strategic Transformation and Growth.

What you’ll do

  • Cultivate positive relationships with Flutter Functions, International, and US divisional CFOs and Finance LT, adapting financial strategies to the dynamic nature of the company.
  • Business partner to the CFO, CPAO and CLO and their leadership teams supporting in building out value across the Flutter Group and optimising value and identifying opportunities to improve returns.
  • Engage with group budget holders, providing insights into industry trends and challenges, and ensuring budgets align with strategic objectives.
  • Challenge assumptions with an understanding of the unique financial considerations in the gaming and betting sector.
  • Manage a portfolio of procurement spend of £4bn across the Flutter Group
  • Actively participate in group decision-making, providing industry-specific financial perspectives.
  • Drive financial outcomes aligned with the ever-evolving goals of our gaming and betting organization.
  • Drive the delivery of the forecasting and budgeting cycles, considering the dynamic nature of the industry that the Company operates in.
  • Provide strategic analysis and recommendations to optimize financial planning processes.
  • Financial modelling of new business opportunities & business case creation
  • Evaluate investment cases for operational group functions within the Company, optimizing returns in a rapidly evolving market.
  • Contribute to the development of long-term plans and long-range plans, incorporating industry-specific considerations.
  • Provide financial insights to support strategic planning efforts within the Company and industry.
  • Build out infrastructure across multiple divisions to enable consistent reporting of value created by Flutter Edge
  • Elevate reporting across €6bn of 3rd party supplier spend to provide key insights and drive effective decision-making working closely with the US and International divisions.
  • Coordinate capital expenditure and monitor capital projects with industry-specific financial insights and recommendations.
  • Support the Finance Director in building out a new high performing team.
  • Manage a team of 5 financial professionals, including development, mentoring, and building a positive culture.

What You’ll Need

  • Qualified accountant with 8+ years of experience within a fast-paced online, digital customer-focused business.
  • Highly numerate with strong financial and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating with business partners and having a strong business sense, capable of explaining financial performance to senior collaborators and simplifying intricate information.
  • Proactively challenges data and asks relevant questions to ensure accuracy and consistency of all financial performance reporting.
  • Strong communication, influencing, collaboration, and relationship-building skills across matrix cultures.
  • Experience leading and delivering cost-saving programs.
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent certification preferred.
