Job title: Conceptual Copywriter
Location: Leeds
Overview of the role:
We are seeking a Conceptual Copywriter able to convert ideas into effective campaigns with smart, captivating copy. You will build concepts, write compelling messages, and uphold our brand voice through multiple platforms. This opportunity fits a writer confident in their skills and prepared to lead briefs and guide the creative vision of our campaigns.
Our brand expresses a strong personality and a clear voice, with a reputation for remarkable creativity. Tone of voice and storytelling have played a vital role since the 2019 rebrand. They make campaigns feel fresh, human, and meaningful.
We’re entering a new phase where creativity goes beyond style—it’s about impact. We want work that stands out, resonates emotionally, and produces tangible business outcomes. That’s why we’re seeking a Mid-Weight to Senior Conceptual Copywriter eager to advance.
You’ll be a storyteller, an idea generator, and a writer who enjoys shaping campaigns from concept to completion. This role suits someone already producing strong copy and ideas who wants more ownership, lead on briefs, and influence ideas across multiple channels.
This role follows a hybrid approach to working, allowing you to combine working from home with working in our modern offices. These discussions are between you and your manager to find the best pattern for you both, while recognising that quality time together is essential for keeping us mission-aligned.
Our Leeds office is at the heart of our business. The 8-storey building has an onsite staff gym and cafeteria, two heated rooftop terraces, a dedicated gaming room and a staircase amphitheatre. The space brings all our teams under one roof in the biggest private letting office in Yorkshire.
What you’ll do:
Develop campaign concepts and creative ideas that work seamlessly across channels (digital, social, CRM, OOH, print, events).
Write compelling, on-brand copy that balances creativity with clarity and impact.
Serve as a tone of voice advocate—making certain our brand voice stays consistent, while advancing it to remain fresh and relevant.
Collaborate closely with designers, art directors, and other creatives to bring campaign ideas to life.
Contribute to brainstorming and ideation sessions, often taking the lead on idea generation.
Present ideas and copy to internal collaborators with confidence, clearly articulating the thinking behind your work.
Own smaller campaign briefs independently while playing a key role in larger, integrated projects.
Mentor and support junior writers or freelancers, offering constructive feedback.
Use insights and data to shape creative messaging that resonates with different audiences.
What you’ll bring:
Essential
5–10 years’ experience as a copywriter, ideally in an agency or in-house creative team.
A strong portfolio that showcases conceptual thinking, campaign work, and crafted copy across different media.
Proven ability to develop big campaign ideas as well as sharp, engaging executions.
Excellent writing skills—from headlines to long-form, with a flair for tone and storytelling.
Strong collaboration skills, working effectively with creatives, strategists, and marketers.
Ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines without compromising quality.
Desirable
Experience in digital-first campaigns, including social, CRM, and paid media.
Familiarity with content marketing and UX copywriting principles.
Experience mentoring or guiding junior copywriters.
Presentation skills—confident pitching ideas internally.
