THE JOB:

The Vice President of Finance partners closely with the Property President and senior leadership team to develop, implement, and monitor financial strategies aligned with both property and enterprise objectives. On a daily basis, the role oversees financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, ensuring accurate and timely insights into business performance. The VP provides strategic recommendations based on financial analysis and market trends to support growth, operational efficiency, and profitability, while also ensuring compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

In addition to guiding strategy, the VP of Finance manages capital expenditures, cost controls, and operational efficiency initiatives, working with department heads across the property to evaluate opportunities, identify risks, and allocate resources effectively. Leading the property finance team, the VP fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. As a key member of the executive team, the position actively contributes to the property’s overall strategic direction and represents the finance function in enterprise-wide initiatives, stakeholder meetings, and board-level discussions as needed.


THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • The Vice President of Finance is responsible for the overall financial management of the property, overseeing financial analysis, forecasting, and projections, as well as capital and operating budget planning, productivity measures, revenue and expense trend evaluation, recordkeeping, and reporting. The role is accountable for ensuring operational and gaming regulatory compliance in accordance with jurisdictional gaming agencies, commissions, and other governing bodies. In addition, the VP oversees risk management and liability exposure, monitoring and governing all property-related financial expenditures.

  • As a strategic leader, the VP develops and implements long-term plans consistent with both the company’s and the property’s mission and vision, serving as a key member of the Executive Committee. Acting as both a financial and operational resource to the Property President and operational division heads, the VP provides guidance to ensure financial success and overall property viability. The position provides executive oversight and direction across the Finance Division, which includes Financial Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Cage, Purchasing, Warehouse/Receiving, Risk Management, and Internal Controls & Fraud Detection.

  • The VP actively participates in identifying and developing business partnerships and relationships that support long-term property growth. Equally important is fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and performance through leadership that promotes employee engagement, feedback, and professional development. The VP also provides guidance in developing and monitoring fiscal budgets and operational strategies to ensure both short-term and long-term profitability.

  • Working closely with department leaders, the VP ensures that sound operational business practices are in place so that all initiatives produce quality results, remain within budget, and meet established deadlines. The role also directs the evaluation and implementation of new products, services, technologies, and processes to maintain a competitive advantage in a dynamic hospitality and gaming environment. By maintaining effective communication with peers and subordinates, empowering managers to carry out their responsibilities, and ensuring compliance with all legal and company policies, the VP of Finance plays a pivotal role in the continued success of the property.


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, or possess equivalent experience. They will have at least six years of progressive leadership experience in finance, preferably within a resort or large-scale hospitality setting, with demonstrated success in managing financial operations, accounting, budgeting, controls, and reporting. A proven track record of setting financial policy and direction, coupled with strong strategic FP&A expertise, is essential.

  • This individual will bring demonstrated business acumen, particularly in navigating complex financial structures and regulatory environments, and will be skilled at building and maintaining off-property relationships with state and city agencies, regulatory bodies, and other third-party partners. Experience overseeing large-scale venues or similar operations is highly desirable.

  • The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, results-oriented leader who can balance strategic vision with operational execution while driving financial performance and long-term organizational success.
