Job Purpose: This position is responsible for delivering outstanding guest service while processing transactions of betting slips in accordance with governing regulations. Transactions include, but are not limited to, the selling/cashing of tickets, making change, cashing checks, and redeeming tickets.

Qualifications:

  • Must have excellent communication skills and be well-presented, polite, tactful, and friendly
  • Ability to resolve complaints and difficult situations calmly and patiently
  • Ability to multitask
  • Basic computer skills
  • Previous cash handling experience

License Requirements:

  • Must be licensed by the RI Department of Business Regulation 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Creates wagering tickets and cashes tickets for guests.
  • Collects appropriate amount of money from the guest for wagers and makes the correct change.
  • Assists guests with questions regarding wagering and how to use the self-betting terminals.
  • Verifies and balanced drawer funds at beginning and end of shift. Safeguards said funds.
  • Maintains assigned window in a neat, organized, and professional manner.
  • Maintains knowledge of property information.
  • Provides superior guest service to all guests.
  • Removes, records, and turns in amount of cash in register at end of shift, with necessary paperwork.  
  • Ensures compliance with the federal currency transaction reporting requirements.

Physical/Mental Requirements:

  • Constant standing and walking and occasional sitting

  • Frequent talking and hearing
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, stooping, repetitive motions, eye/hand/foot coordination

Working Conditions:

  • Regularly exposed to smoke, bright lights, and noise
