The Position:

We are currently seeking a Technical Lead - Business Operations to join our roster and play a pivotal role on the Technology team in supporting the organization. Reporting to the VP of Strategic Initiatives, this position will lead companywide projects within the Program Management Office (PMO). 

The primary responsibility of this role will be to lead the Workday team and manage the day-to-day operations of the Workday Head Count Management (HCM) and Finance systems. This role requires an experienced professional who can balance hands-on technical expertise with strategic leadership. Will work closely with HR, Finance and IT to ensure that Workday is fully optimized to support operational initiatives. This role will have a primary focus on Finance initiatives. This is an opportunity for a forward-thinking leader to guide the organization’s Workday strategy and drive innovative solutions within a complex, large-scale environment.

This role is expected to utilize best-in-class project management methodologies to support end-to-end management from initiating, planning, and executing to reporting on initiatives supported by the PMO. Will develop and maintain project and process rigor to support large and complex projects that are directly tied to the organization’s strategic goals and will build strong relationships with subject matter experts across the organization to ensure all projects are delivered on time and meet expectations of stakeholders and partners. 
 

This is a hybrid role in Southport, CT.

The Game Plan:
(What you will do)

  • Effectively manage initiatives assigned by the PMO, which are aligned to the organization’s strategic goals.
  • Work closely with cross functional departments to understand project requirements, align strategy, and formalize a project delivery schedule.
  • Lead and manage the Workday team, providing direction on system enhancements, new module implementations, and ongoing support.
  • Oversee the configuration, testing, and deployment of Workday solutions across various modules, including Core HR, Core Finance, Payroll, and Talent Management.
  • Drive the execution of Workday-related projects, including system upgrades, process improvements, integrations, and new feature rollouts.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all data, overseeing audits, validation, and compliance efforts.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for system issues, troubleshooting, and resolutions, working closely with IT and external vendors as needed.
  • Develop and implement best practices and training programs for end-users to maximize system adoption and effectiveness.
  • Monitor Workday updates and emerging functionalities, recommending and implementing system improvements to stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports to provide business leaders with actionable insights into improvement progress.
  • Lead Identity and Access Management (IAM) of Workday and related platforms.
  • Ensure the seamless integration of Workday with other systems and platforms within the organization.
  • Foster a trusting relationship with teammates and all third-party vendors.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture.

The Stats:

  • 8+ years of relevant professional work experience.
  • Proven ability to administer the Workday platform.
  • Proven ability to develop, configure, migrate code and configuration of the Workday platform.
  • Proven ability to manage security of the Workday platform.
  • Ability to create and manage Workday’s Business Process Framework (BPF).
  • Lead and manage the Workday team, providing direction on system enhancements, new module implementations, and ongoing support.

  • Broad technical skills and understanding of technical architecture

The Company is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base compensation range for this role is $110,000 - $125,000.  Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates’ relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
