Description
We are looking for a highly experienced and strategic Tax Team Lead to oversee the Group’s international tax structuring, transfer pricing framework and tax risk management.
The role is responsible for shaping and supervising the Group’s tax approach across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring tax efficiency, regulatory compliance and alignment with business objectives. The position acts as the central in-house tax authority, leading tax planning initiatives, reviewing external advisory and providing strategic tax guidance to management.
The Tax Team Lead reports to Group Head of International Finance Department and plays a key role in supporting international expansion and structuring decisions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of the Group’s international tax strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and risk appetite
- Oversee tax structuring of international operations, including evaluation of jurisdictions, business models and cross-border setups
- Design, implement and monitor the Group’s transfer pricing framework, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and OECD guidelines
- Review and challenge tax advice received from external consultants, provide independent conclusions, risk assessments and recommendations
- Act as the primary in-house tax advisor for management on international transactions, restructurings and new market entries
- Identify tax risks across jurisdictions and develop mitigation strategies, ensure proper escalation of high-risk matters
- Oversee tax aspects of group restructuring and reorganization projects
- Ensure alignment between tax structuring and actual business operations to minimize exposure to regulatory challenges
- Monitor changes in international tax legislation and assess their impact on the Group’s structure and operations
- Establish internal tax policies, guidelines and control procedures across the Group
- Supervise and develop the tax team, set objectives, review performance and ensure high-quality output
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Law or a related field (ACCA, CPA or advanced tax qualification is a strong advantage)
- At least 8–10 years of relevant experience in international tax, tax structuring or transfer pricing
- Proven experience in leading tax functions or managing teams
- Strong expertise in international tax planning, transfer pricing and cross-border structuring
- Experience working with external tax advisors across multiple jurisdictions
- Strong understanding of OECD guidelines and international tax frameworks
- Strategic thinking combined with strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities
- Excellent knowledge of Armenian, English and Russian
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
- High level of ownership, judgment and decision-making capability
