As our Steakhouse Sous Chef, you’ll bring passion, precision, and leadership to every plate. You’ll oversee daily kitchen operations, inspire your team, and ensure every dish exceeds guest expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate kitchen staff with professionalism and teamwork
  • Oversee food prep, inventory, and cost control
  • Design and execute daily and special event menus
  • Ensure safety, cleanliness, and equipment functionality
  • Collaborate with chefs to elevate quality, presentation, and efficiency
  • Maintain labor standards without compromising service
  • Uphold appearance, uniform, and regulatory standards

Cook – Craft Every Bite

As a Cook, you’ll be the heartbeat of our kitchen—preparing high-quality dishes with speed, consistency, and flair.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present menu items to perfection
  • Follow recipes and portion guidelines
  • Maintain freshness, quality, and cleanliness
  • Support a fast-paced, guest-focused environment
  • Ensure efficient use of ingredients and minimize waste

What We’re Looking For:

  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years in high-volume kitchens (banquets, buffets, or specialty dining preferred)
  • Strong communication, leadership, and customer service skills
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Computer proficiency (Micros, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Internal candidates must meet Harrah’s Joliet transfer eligibility

Job Demands:

  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and standing
  • Work in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment
  • Tolerate standard kitchen chemicals and temperatures

Work Schedule: 

  • Employment Type - Full-Time
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.  
  • Swing Shift: 1:00 pm - Close
