Description

At GiG, we’re looking for a Senior Devops Engineer with strong expertise in platform engineering, automation, and you'll help scale containerized workloads, improve system observability, and optimize cloud environments for performance and cost-efficiency. 


Key Responsibilities & Requirements

Responsabilities:
  • Deep understanding of both operational and containerisation principles, together with a proven track record of designing and delivering solutions to maintain reliable and resilient platforms.
  • Design and deliver reliable, scalable, and secure infrastructure — with a strong focus on Kubernetes and CI/CD automation.
  • Automate infrastructure workflows using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Helm, or Kustomize.
  • Lead cloud cost optimization initiatives: resource usage analysis, budgeting, reporting, and tooling.
  • Improve system observability and incident response processes, aligned with SRE practices to an intimate understanding of platform behaviour and performance, with which one may also proactively detect problems in not-so-familiar systems during incident escalations
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects and cross-functional tech teams as a technical reference and mentor.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Previous technical experience in a senior technical role.
  • Deep understanding of the following: Container platforms operations and architectures CI/CD toolchains and related practices
  • Proven experience building, deploying, maintaining, and operating SaaS products in a cost-effective manner on popular Public Cloud Providers (mainly AWS).
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud cost optimization strategies, cost monitoring tools, and financial reporting related to cloud spend.
  • Infrastructure as Code and Templating (Ansible, Terraform, Helm, Kustomize)
  • Solid Linux knowledge, including filesystems, day-to-day administration such as monitoring and observability, cli tools, scripting etc..
  • Grasp of networking concepts, including TCP/IP layers, Load Balancers, reverse proxies, firewalling and packet inspection practices. 
  • Experience building, deploying, maintaining, and operating SaaS products in a cost effective manner on popular Public clouds providers.
  • Sound understanding of the software development ecosystem: use of Git, environment segregation, scrum methodologies etc.
  • Ability to articulate technical documentation and design architecture blueprints.
