About the role:

The Corporate Development function at Flutter is mandated to develop and implement the company’s global expansion strategy and supports the most critical corporate initiatives within the organisation. It is a lean, non-hierarchical group that originates and supports strategic projects that build on the company’s strong foundation and deliver measurable value in accordance with the strategic vision.

Reporting to the Group Director of Corporate Finance and M&A, the role of the Senior Corporate Development Manager is highly visible within the industry and the Flutter organisation and requires the maturity to inform and influence senior management across the industry and Flutter’s business, as well as to manage the relationship with external advisors in order to successfully implement strategic initiatives.

Beyond the commercial, project management and technical skills required to manage the full life cycle of acquisitions, partnerships and other commercial transactions, the role will also involve the identification and strategic assessment of new actionable opportunities in line with Group strategy.

This is an exciting role for a person with strong commercial acumen and corporate finance experience looking to further hone their strategic, analytical, negotiation and relationship building skills in the fast-growing online betting and gaming sector.

What you’ll do

  • Source, evaluate, and implement non-organic opportunities on a global scale, including M&A.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the worldwide betting and gaming sector, rivals, and market trends.
  • All aspects of investment appraisal including, working closely with divisional colleagues, developing the strategic rationale for action, unearthing novel and pertinent data sources and analysis to test that rationale, and communicating clearly internally those findings;
  • Manage, coordinate, and communicate intricate strategic projects from inception to conclusion, uniting cross-functional and cross-regional customers to accomplish desired goals.
  • Assess the value creation potential of prospective deals by assessing what synergies Flutter can achieve through acquisition of an asset;
  • Develop intricate financial models from scratch for the preparation of business cases, valuing assets and financial impact analysis;
  • Perform detailed financial analyses, including valuations (DCF, comparable companies, transactions), cash flow, and credit analysis.
  • Prepare and deliver internal presentations for senior team members within Flutter and its divisions;
  • Complete transaction processes rigorously, including due diligence, valuation, term sheet negotiation, advisor coordination, and oversight of legal documentation.
  • Strengthen the Corporate Development team by actively supporting recruitment, training, and development of team members into high-performing colleagues.

What You’ll Need

  • ACA qualified with 5-7 years of experience, including M&A advisory, ideally from a big 4 firm or similar.
  • Proven experience in negotiating and closing numerous corporate transactions.
  • Ambitious and driven self-starter, eager to dive into new challenges.
  • Passionate about our company and the opportunities in the online betting and gaming sector.
  • Confident communication and presentation skills (written and spoken) to influence senior collaborators.
  • Analytical with the ability to think 'big picture' while also possessing a detailed and curious attitude when needed.
  • Proficient in structuring deals, managing intricate financial models, and effectively communicating through diverse mediums.
  • Ability to balance a varied workload and make quick decisions on prioritization.
  • Experience in valuing companies within broad investment criteria.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Consistently high academic achievement.
