The Role
The RPF Business & Automation Manager is responsible for driving operational excellence across the Risk, Fraud & Payments department by identifying opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, optimise systems, and successfully deliver operational projects.
This role acts as the department's operational improvement specialist, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure RPF processes remain scalable, compliant, and aligned with business objectives.
Unlike an operational management role, the Operations Excellence Lead does not have direct responsibility for the day-to-day management of teams. Instead, the focus is on improving how the department operates through process optimisation, automation, systems enhancement, data-driven decision making, and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identifying opportunities to improve system utilisation.
- Recommending system enhancements.
- Participating in testing of new functionality.
- Supporting operational rollout of system improvements.
- Participating in product demonstrations.
- Evaluating and testing new functionalities.
- Recommending improvements that benefit RPF operations.
- Supporting implementation of new features.
Process Optimisation:
- Continuously review existing operational processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Simplify workflows to reduce manual effort while maintaining appropriate risk controls.
- Standardise operational procedures across all RPF teams and brands.
- Identify process bottlenecks and recommend practical solutions.
- Support the implementation of operational best practices across the department.
Operational Projects:
- Lead operational initiatives that impact the RPF department.
- Coordinate RPF involvement in new brand launches, market expansions, payment integrations, and regulatory implementations.
- Develop project plans, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of operational changes.
Data Analysis & Business Intelligence:
- Analyse operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities.
- Produce meaningful insights that support strategic decision-making.
- Monitor operational performance and recommend improvements based on data analysis.
- Develop reporting that highlights operational risks and efficiency opportunities.
Automation & Operational Efficiency:
- Identify repetitive manual activities suitable for automation.
- Work alongside Product and Development teams to improve operational workflows.
- Support the implementation of automation initiatives that improve productivity while maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Monitor the effectiveness of implemented automation and recommend further enhancements.
Systems Ownership:
Act as the co-operational subject matter expert for RPF systems, including but not limited to:
- SoftSwiss
- SEON
- Sumsub
- Payment Platforms
- Internal Administration Tools
Change Management:
- Coordinate operational readiness for new products, features, payment methods, regulatory requirements, and internal initiatives.
- Ensure all operational changes are successfully embedded into daily processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to minimise disruption during implementation.
Regulatory & Operational Readiness:
- Assess the operational impact of new regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with Compliance and AML teams to ensure operational processes remain compliant.
- Recommend process adjustments where required to meet evolving regulatory obligations.
Operational Risk Management:
- Identify operational risks before they impact service delivery.
- Review existing workflows for vulnerabilities and inefficiencies.
- Recommend mitigation strategies that improve resilience while maintaining operational efficiency.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement across the RPF department.
- Research emerging technologies and industry best practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational performance through innovation.
- Develop and maintain an operational improvement roadmap.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience within Risk, Fraud & Payments operations.
- Strong understanding of online gaming payment and verification processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven experience managing operational projects.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to analyse operational data and present actionable insights.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Strong understanding of operational risk management.

- Experience working with SoftSwiss.
- Experience using SEON.
- Experience using Sumsub.
- Knowledge of payment operations.
- Understanding of AML and Responsible Gaming operational requirements.
- Experience with automation initiatives.
- Experience participating in system implementation projects.
- Knowledge of business intelligence or reporting tools (Power BI, Looker Studio, Tableau, or similar).
