About Flutter UKI 

Flutter UK & Ireland are the UKI region of Flutter Entertainment. They unite a dozen brands including powerhouses Paddy Power, Betfair, Tombola and Sky Betting & Gaming, bringing together hundreds of teams and thousands of colleagues, who create trusted entertainment for millions of customers every week. 

Role Overview:

The Project Manager is  responsible for role modelling and ensuring the adoption of operating model behaviours for the initiative they lead.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

Leadership & Business Context

  • Motivates co-workers to attain goals and pursue excellence. 
  • Be resilient when the initiative team is facing setbacks they can't resolve and provide resolution and encouragement.
  • Keep up-to-date with commercial status and ensure initiative team understands the wider context of their initiative.

Teamwork & Staff Development

  • Coach and guide on common language usage across multiple initiatives.
  • Supports new team members to onboard.
  • Supports junior / intern members to grow in their career.

Stakeholder Management

  • Able to simplify complex issues/risks/plans to effectively communicate (both written and verbally) with non-technical Senior stakeholders.
  • Effective at leading initiative meetings.
  • Builds a knowledge base of each stakeholder's business, systems and objectives. 
  • Seeks feedback from stakeholders in a process of continual process improvement. 

Governance, Programme Delivery

  • Resolves and/or escalates risks and issues in a timely fashion. 
  • Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully. 
  • Understands the Flutter UKI operating model and can articulate how it works to stakeholders from different functions.
  • Able to adhere, with little support, to optimal methodology, in line with the agreed operating model and initiative specifics
  • Hosts ‘lessons learned' for the initiative, identify future improvements, shares with the other Project Managers and implements them during the next initiative.
  • Quickly adapts planning to new initiatives across different domains.
  • Leads medium-high complexity cross-tribe initiatives with little support required.
  • Controls initiatives throughout the lifecycle. Reports status and prognosis.
  • Initiates management actions in response to initiative progress reports (achievement, productivity and risk). 

Skills, Capabilities & Experience Required:

  • We are looking for a Project Manager to work with key business customers, stakeholders, external technology partners and groups within the Flutter UKI business to lead initiatives from concept to customers. 
  • The Project Manager is empowered to drive the successful delivery of initiatives through effective planning, risk and dependency management and transparency with the relevant stakeholders. 
  • With strong foundations in project management disciplines, they're the go-to person for the initiatives they lead.
  • Identifies future or potential pitfalls and creates mitigation or contingency plans in a timely manner to remove obstacles.
  • Determines an optimal method for effective flow of communication between multi-regional teams.
  • Clearly articulates priorities to the delivery teams and stakeholders. 
  • Provide visibility of project resourcing from a capacity and capability point of view.
  • Ability to set priorities and focus teams on what is most important.
  • Maintains excellent composure and professionalism even in very difficult situations; confident under pressure, handles and manages crises effectively; bounces back from setbacks and acts as a role model for others; maintains a positive attitude despite adversity; skilfully handles challenges and obstacles applying insights from others and lessons learned from mistakes.
  • Quickly understands and adapts well to new and unfamiliar situations or challenges; consistently performs experiments to find the best solution; learns from others' experiences and shares lessons learned from own mistakes; is transparent about failure and views mistakes as opportunities to learn.
