We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to manage and guide the development of our Sportsbook back-end platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agile product management, combined with technical expertise in sportsbook systems and experience in the gambling or gaming industry. You will work closely with development teams, business stakeholders, and external partners to deliver high-quality, scalable, and compliant solutions that drive the success of our sportsbook offerings.

Key Responsibilities

Create comprehensive product specifications by writing user stories with clear acceptance criteria, supplemented with visual aids such as wireframes and flowcharts when needed, ensuring development teams have all the necessary information to achieve the desired outcomes.

Lead the product discovery process for assigned initiatives, including generating hypotheses, gathering requirements, designing, and scoping, in close collaboration with product managers, product designers, data analysts, and engineering teams.

Assist the product manager in organizing, prioritizing, and keeping the product development backlog current and well-maintained. Support the Product Manager by taking on additional responsibilities or assisting with delegated tasks as needed.

Contribute to the product vision and advocate for this vision with both stakeholders and engineering teams to ensure alignment and understanding.

Provide support to development teams by answering questions, clarifying requirements, and removing any blockers to facilitate timely product delivery.

Collaborate with other departments as needed to ensure successful product outcomes and ensure those outcomes are tracked and measured effectively.

Communicate updates on product releases and the status of ongoing development efforts to the broader organization to keep everyone aligned.

Oversee user acceptance testing (UAT) for new product releases or coordinate testing efforts, ensuring quality and functionality meet expectations.

Maintain product documentation and internal wikis, ensuring they are always up-to-date and accessible for relevant teams.

Conduct demos and training sessions for stakeholders on new product concepts and releases, ensuring effective knowledge transfer.

Continuously assess the live product, identifying areas for improvement and addressing any gaps between the expected and actual user experience.

Key Requirements

Must

Proven experience managing the product lifecycle from concept to delivery, including product discovery, design, development, and post-launch optimization.

Expertise in managing and prioritizing the product backlog, working closely with development teams to deliver value incrementally.

Solid experience with Agile practices (Scrum, Kanban), including sprint planning, sprint reviews, and backlog refinement. Ability to work in fast-paced, iterative environments.

Experience writing clear, actionable user stories and defining detailed acceptance criteria, ensuring all stakeholders have a shared understanding of requirements.

Strong ability to work with cross-functional teams, including engineering, data scientists, business analysts, marketing, and operations teams.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly identify and address issues in the product development process or in live operations.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a simple and accessible way for non-technical stakeholders.

Prior experience in the gaming industry will be considered a plus.

Desirable but Not Required

A personal passion for sports or sports betting can be an added advantage, as it helps understand user needs and industry trends.

Familiarity with back-end systems in sports betting, including bet placement/settlement, real-time data processing, risk management and PAM integrations.

A solid understanding of back-end systems architecture, APIs, databases (SQL, NoSQL), and microservices that power Back-end systems.
