What’s the Position?
The Sportsbook Operations Manager oversees the full operational performance and strategic direction of the Sportsbook Operations function. Reporting into senior leadership, this role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, driving continuous process innovation, and leading multiple teams toward achieving best-in-class standards in compliance, performance, and customer experience.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with deep experience in sportsbook operations and a proven ability to manage cross-functional initiatives, implement scalable processes, and develop future leaders.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Leadership:
Oversee day-to-day sportsbook operations, ensuring all technical, procedural, and trading activities meet regulatory and performance standards.
Define and execute the operational strategy aligned with company objectives and growth plans.
Partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Compliance, Risk, Trading, and Customer Experience) to enhance operational efficiency and customer outcomes.
Lead the continuous improvement of systems, workflows, and data-driven decision-making processes.
Team Development & Leadership:
Manage and mentor Team Leads and Associates, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
Identify training needs and create development programs to enhance technical and leadership capabilities within the operations teams.
Act as a role model and advocate for company culture, inclusion, and excellence in execution.
Performance Management:
Establish clear KPIs and performance metrics across sportsbook operations teams.
Regularly review performance reports, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to optimize operations.
Lead quarterly business reviews for sportsbook operations, summarizing key outcomes, challenges, and improvement plans.
Incident & Risk Management:
Oversee the management of major incidents and operational escalations, ensuring timely, effective resolution and communication with senior leadership.
Collaborate with the Risk, Compliance, and Audit teams to ensure adherence to all internal controls and external regulatory standards.
Champion data accuracy and operational integrity, minimizing exposure to operational or regulatory risk.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
Identify, propose, and implement process automation and technological enhancements to streamline sportsbook operations.
Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor innovations, and emerging best practices to maintain Hard Rock Digital’s competitive edge.
Drive post-incident analysis and operational improvement initiatives based on root cause assessments.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a strategic operator and people leader with strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills. You are comfortable managing complexity, making data-informed decisions, and inspiring teams to deliver outstanding results in a high-performance environment.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in sportsbook operations, with at least 2+ years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
Strong understanding of sportsbook systems, trading operations, compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
Proven experience leading multi-tier teams and implementing operational strategies.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and drive alignment between business and operational goals.
A proactive mindset with a passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and customer experience.
