The Head of Technology - Control Performance and Governance is a leadership role, playing a crucial role within Flutter’s UKI Technology organisation, reporting directly to the regional UKI Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). This senior leadership position is responsible for building and then leading critical monitoring and governance functions with a specialized focus on technology and cybersecurity controls essential to the protection and integrity of financial systems and data for a SOX-regulated, NYSE-listed business.
A primary responsibility will be to quickly establish and own a robust SOX oversight capability and control monitoring capability within the 1st line that collaborates seamlessly with 2nd line
internal assurance and 3rd line external audit functions.
Ensure that Flutter UKI technology is setup correctly to play well within the SOX mandates as set out by the Flutter Board and Executive Committee.
Drive and achieve for never any material control weaknesses and minimal, short lived non-material weaknesses.
Ensure that we maintain an appropriate SOX system and application scope which is sustainably maintained.
Developing the culture of the control owner across all of technology
Oversight of capabilities and programs to drive down any existing and new SOX related control weaknesses highlighted by 1st or 2nd line
Creation and delivery of high quality, written Flutter Board and Executive Committee updates
Working at a strategic level with enterprise architecture to ensure we design and build to optimise for SOX and other control needs
Own the 1st line, independent, technology and cyber control monitoring and assessment capability, employing best of breed methods and tooling
Produce regular, reliable and clear management reporting on control effectiveness
Influencing the key control area that is access governance to ensure our people only have the access, they need to do their jobs
Working closely and collaboratively with the 2nd and 3rdline governance and assurance capabilities across Flutter the UKI region
Work with the wider UKI Information Security LT to ensure best practices in the areas of cyber and technology risk are covered
Leveraging Artificial Intelligence in a sustainable way to drive greater operational efficiency across all aspects of the role
Own and frugally manage operational and transformation budgets
Build a culture of engagement for the Security Services team across all brands, where Infosec are seen as pragmatic enablers and facilitators and not blockers.
Engage with colleagues inside and outside Technology to ensure cross-functional initiatives are delivered, and dependencies are managed.
Experienced senior people leader in the realm of Governance, Risk and Compliance with a focus on cyber security
Demonstrative experience of SOX as a control framework and how controls need to be built and positioned to work well with SOX
A proven track record of a pragmatic approach to achieving SOX compliance through effective control implementation
Strong people leadership skills
In-depth knowledge of control monitoring tools and methodologies e.g. Anecdotes
Knowledge of the SailPoint, Identity Now platform and its use
Exceptional strategic planning and project management skills.
Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
