Job Description

Job Purpose:

We are looking for an Accounts Officer to join the Finance Ops team. This is a full-time post and would suit someone who is flexible and able to meet tight deadlines of various month end tasks.  Accuracy, attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to work individually as well as part of a team are essential.  

The Accounting team is a fast-paced, dynamic department covering full general ledger responsibilities for Rank Interactive. We are in the process of centralising and developing the financial control environment, and further expansion of the team and its responsibilities is underway, with the possibility of further centralisation of activity.   

This is a great opportunity for the right individual to join our finance department and be a part of the change we are delivering within the Rank Group.  You will report to the Financial Controller and have accountability to segment finance directors with the possibility of future opportunities across the finance organisation. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Maintenance of information in key systems, this could include bank statements, transactions, bookkeeping and Invoices. 
  • Process invoices, payments, accruals, prepayments and other GL entries and verify financial data to ensure accurate recording of liabilities. 
  • Recording of bank transactions onto the accounting system and perform bank reconciliation. 
  • Manage payment disbursements, including preparing and issuing payments to vendors. 
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. 
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address and resolve any issues. 
  • Preparing audit schedules, reconciling each balance sheet items, and assisting in other statutory requirements. 
  • Reconciliation of financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing financial data. 
  • Raise queries on a timely basis and liaise with other team members to ensure timely resolution of matters arising. 
  • Assist in the preparation of statutory fillings  
  • Assist in month-end closing activities and preparation of financial reports. 
  • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and information. 

Qualifications

What’s needed for success:

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in accounting/finance would be desirable.
  • Basic understanding of accounts payable and accounting principles.
  • Good Excel and data entry skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and develop.
  • Flexible working attitude with the willingness to work hours that reflect the needs of the operation.
