Trader II - Risk (International Sports)

Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG) is looking for an experienced Risk Trader II to take a leading role within our growing Trading team. 

As a Risk Trader II, you will help drive the success of our live trading operations—especially across International Sports such as Tennis, Soccer, and European Basketball—while also mentoring and developing other traders. You will play a key role in managing live risk, solving complex trading challenges, and contributing to the strategic direction of the trading function.

Responsibilities

• Managing live betting markets and liabilities across major international sports.
• Demonstrate expertise in identifying and responding to sharp customer behavior, ensuring market integrity and contributing to effective risk management strategies
• Conducting real-time data analysis and price adjustments based on customer behavior and market conditions.
• Supporting feature testing and providing feedback to improve trading models and platform functionality.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance the end-to-end betting experience.
• Troubleshoot and resolve live risk anomalies and operational issues with minimal supervision.
• Assist Trading Managers in training programs, knowledge sharing, and performance feedback loops.
• Promote best practices across pricing, risk management, and live event handling.
• Identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements to internal tools, trading strategies, and workflows.
• Work closely with the Product and Engineering teams to evolve trading automation and risk controls.
• Operational Flexibility: Maintain availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Occasional travel to events or other Fanatics offices may be required.
  
   

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Sports Trader working in the Sports Betting industry.
• Proven ability to price markets, manage liabilities, and make quick, accurate decisions under pressure.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring or coaching other traders or junior team members.
• Strong autonomy and initiative—able to independently solve complex trading and risk problems.
• Excellent understanding of betting markets, customer behavior, and trading tools/platforms.
• High level of sports knowledge, particularly in Tennis, Soccer, and European Basketball.
• Analytical mindset with strong data interpretation skills; familiarity with tools such as Excel, SQL, or Python is a plus.
• Clear communicator with a team-oriented, collaborative approach.
