Overview

As our Technical Product Manager, you'll sit within Product and work closely with our Cloud, Data, Security and Platform teams to help shape the technology that Dabble's products are built on.

This role is about bringing a strong product lens into a highly technical environment. You'll help build roadmaps, support prioritisation and trade-off decisions, translate complex technical work into clear business outcomes, and make sure we're investing in the right platform capabilities as Dabble continues to scale globally.

You don't need to be an engineer, but you'll need enough technical nous to comfortably work through conversations around APIs, databases, AWS, architecture and platform capability. Just as importantly, you'll be able to step out of the technical detail and clearly communicate what we're doing, why we're doing it and where it sits in the broader roadmap.

You'll work across projects supporting Dabble's backend operations across multiple markets, helping us build technology and platform capability that can scale rather than needing to be rebuilt market by market.

Primary Location

This role is currently open to all locations within Australia.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and support roadmaps across Cloud, Data, Security and Platform, balancing business priorities, regulatory requirements, reliability, cost and speed of delivery.

  • Work with technical teams to determine what we build, why we build it and how initiatives should be prioritised.

  • Translate technical requirements and challenges into clear product priorities, requirements and epics.

  • Make informed trade-off and prioritisation decisions across competing infrastructure, platform, data and security initiatives.

  • Partner with Cloud, Data and Security teams on architecture and platform decisions, bringing a product and commercial lens to technical conversations.

  • Build a global view of Dabble's platform capability, helping ensure new markets can be supported through scalable solutions rather than bespoke builds.

  • Identify dependencies and risks across technical workstreams and help keep initiatives moving towards key milestones.

  • Work alongside Security and Compliance to ensure platform decisions consider regulatory requirements across our different jurisdictions.

  • Clearly communicate roadmap progress, decisions, risks and trade-offs to technical, product and executive stakeholders.

  • Build strong relationships across Product and Technology, creating alignment between teams that don't always speak the same language.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong Product Management experience within a technology-led environment.

  • Experience owning and shaping roadmaps across technical products, platforms, infrastructure, data or similar areas.

  • Strong technical fluency - you don't need to write the code, but you should be comfortable discussing APIs, databases, cloud platforms such as AWS and modern architecture concepts.

  • Ability to understand technical trade-offs and turn them into clear product and business decisions.

  • Experience working closely with Engineering, Cloud, Data, Platform or Security teams.

  • Strong prioritisation skills and experience balancing multiple competing technical and business priorities.

  • Experience translating complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including working with senior stakeholders across different teams, regions and time zones.

  • Experience working within a global or multi-market environment.

  • Comfortable operating in an environment where priorities move quickly and you'll need to make decisions with imperfect information.

Are you a Dabbler?

A Dabbler’s attitude is paramount, as the right person will be able to learn quickly and adapt to any skill gaps. A Dabbler is always a team player, with a willingness to share with and learn from others. Being a remote-first workplace, collaborative working styles are crucial to empower and grow each individual member (eg we prefer openness via public channels to problem solve or ideate on Slack).

A Dabbler uses their freedom of autonomy to its absolute potential and enjoys contributing to the Dabble community. We hold respect for our peers very highly – there is no such thing as a bad idea. We encourage you to think differently, be brave and strive to always raise the bar. Dabble was born out of thought sharing and should tackle growth in the same way. Dabble embraces empowerment of all people at any level of seniority and experience to ‘own their work’ and ‘talk their book’ wherever they can.

A fulfilling life extends beyond work, and we encourage our employees to prioritise self-care and well-being. This means taking breaks when needed, setting boundaries, and seeking support when facing challenges. We are committed to creating a safe environment where individuals feel comfortable discussing their wellbeing and accessing resources when necessary.
