Tech Compliance Manager (M)

Location: Dublin, Leeds, Cluj, Sofia

The Technical Compliance Manager plays a pivotal role within Flutter Studios Team to develop in-house content development, ensuring its compliance with regulatory standards, and its distribution to a wide array of Flutter Brand partners, including FanDuel, Paddy Power, Sky Betting and Gaming, Sisal, Betfair, Adjarabet, and PokerStars, spanning multiple markets and jurisdictions.

This role will lead a team of regulatory and compliance operations specialists to help navigate the highly complex regulatory environments that Flutter Studios operates in, including the USA, Italy, the UK, Ireland and further jurisdictions.

The role will ensure that the games and platform can be certified globally by considering local requirements, including the development and understanding of regulatory requirements for a Remote Gaming Server (RGS) and our wider platform aspirations from low level detail to high level certification processes.

The Technical Compliance Manager will have a strong level of experience with the Casino regulatory environment, and will develop and maintain relationships with both internal stakeholders as well as external stakeholders, to include certification labs and regulators themselves.

Role accountabilities: 

Work Output & Delivery:

  • Lead the Regulatory and Compliance Operations team to ensure compliance with gaming regulations in various markets, including the USA, Italy, the UK, Ireland and others.

  • Collaborate with Product and Technology teams to translate regulatory requirements into technical specifications, ensuring that products meet compliance standards.

  • Own the compliance for the Flutter Studios Platform from development through BAU activities and operational management, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.

  • Build and maintain relationships with certification labs and regulatory bodies, facilitating a swift path to market and aligning customer experiences with regulatory expectations.

  • Streamline Compliance processes and workflows, offering support for regulatory issues, incident management, and the maintenance of a library of essential documents.

  • Stay vigilant in monitoring changes in regulations and promptly disseminate relevant information to Flutter Studios' different teams.

Team Leadership:

  • Provide leadership to the Regulatory and Compliance Operations team, motivating and directing team members to meet compliance goals.

  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement within the team, encouraging innovation and efficiency in compliance processes

  • Conduct HR functions, including performance reviews, one-on-one sessions, team training and development, to enhance team members skills and knowledge.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external parties, such as certification labs, regulators, and other Compliance teams within the Flutter business.

  • Encourage knowledge sharing and collaboration with other Compliance teams and the studios, ensuring a holistic approach to compliance efforts.

Operational Excellence

  • Drive operational excellence by ensuring the team's adherence to compliance standards in the development and maintenance of gaming products.

  • Actively seek and implement efficiencies within Compliance processes and workflows, ensuring effective management of regulatory issues and incidents.

  • Promote a proactive approach to staying informed about changes in regulations, allowing the business to adapt swiftly.

  • Implement strategies to improve the general awareness and understanding of regulatory and technical compliance within the organization, fostering a compliance-conscious culture.

Skills and Capabilities:

  • 5+ years focused Compliance experience in Online Casino, direct experience of working with regulators and operators to ensure compliance.

  • Ability to understand technical regulatory requirements deeply and communicate them effectively to a non-technical audience.

  • Ability to inspire confidence in colleagues through your strong communication skills, including both oral and written communication in English.

  • Stakeholder Management: ability to liaise with external and internal stakeholders at all levels, to include Senior Leadership.

  • Ability to rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Exceptional knowledge and experience with people management and coaching techniques

  • Experience on building and implementing a strategic plans and frameworks
