Team Lead - Risk

We’re looking for a Team Lead to join our Central Risk Team at Flutter UK & Ireland.

Our Traders are the people behind the odds that our customers bet on. We utilise stats, inhouse models, industry news and our opinions to solve problems, manage risks and power performance on all types of sporting events.

Risk Traders work as part of the UK&I Risk team to monitor Football and Sports customers’ activity in real time and retrospectively, assessing the future value of these customers and adjusting Flutter UK&I’s risk exposure to each customer accordingly. The Risk team also monitor Flutter UK&I’s liabilities across Football and Sports, acting as appropriate to manage Flutter UK&I’s risk exposure.

What you’ll do

Operational Execution:

• Supervise the real-time and retrospective risk operations, ensuring alignment with strategy and OKRs and delivery against our risk KPIs.
• Lead customer risk management and liability/error detection operations, ensuring high-quality decision-making.
• Act as the first line of escalation for traders, providing guidance and resolving issues in real time.
• Acting as the duty manager during shifts, making critical operational decisions to ensure seamless delivery for our customers.
• Ensure consistent execution of team and individual performance.

Management, Leadership & Culture:

• Monitor and drive team performance through regular feedback, coaching, and mentorship.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and accountability within the trading team.
• Collaborate with the Manager and Specialists to implement training and engagement initiatives.

Retail Ownership:

• Help execute against our retail risk management processes and understanding team performance to drive improvements.

Collaboration & Stakeholders Management

• Collaborating across various departments, including Global Risk, Automation, quants and analytics, Tech, Trading, Commercial, Fraud and others to drive risk performance improvements.
• Acting as a key point of contact and subject matter expert for all things related to trading risk operations.

Communication:

• Ability to present complex information to internal and external stakeholders in a way that is easy to understand and consume.

Compliance:

• Ensure all projects comply with Flutter Entertainment’s regulatory and responsible gambling policies.

How you’ll do it:
