The Flutter tax team reports directly into the group’s CFO and is a high-profile tax function within a fast-moving and rapidly growing business.  The Gaming Tax team is a commercially focussed team that manages all revenue-based taxes within the highly regulated betting and gaming industry e.g., gambling taxes, VAT, DSTs.  These taxes can have a critical impact on the business model and provide interesting and exciting challenges.

What you’ll do

  • Manage the review and approval of betting and gaming tax returns across multiple international jurisdictions. Use automated data processes while ensuring accuracy, completeness, and robust internal controls.
  • Develop a deep understanding of product mechanics, promotional structures, and revenue flows to inform accurate tax treatment.
  • Monitor global legislative and regulatory changes and communicate impacts proactively.

  • Contribute to the build, improvement, and operation of the Gaming Tax control framework, ensuring risks are detailed, monitored, and mitigated effectively.
  • Manage projects that provide strategic tax input on new product launches, market entries, and commercial initiatives.
  • Lead responses to queries or audits from tax authorities in various jurisdictions, collaborating with colleagues across the business.
  • Act as a trusted business partner to Product, Commercial, Regulatory, Finance, and Data teams.

How you’ll do it

  • Experience in tax risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
  • Training will be provided on-the-job, so although previous experience in the betting and gaming industry is not necessary, having an interest in the products may be beneficial.
  • Must be self-motivated and possess excellent organization and project management skills.
  • Experience managing or mentoring junior team members.
