About Flutter Functions:

The Flutter Functions division is a key component of Flutter Entertainment, responsible for providing essential support and services across the organization. The division encompasses various corporate functions, including finance, legal, human resources, technology, and more, ensuring seamless operations and strategic alignment throughout the company.

Role overview:

The Strategic Intelligence team transforms complex data into actionable insights that guide strategic technology decisions, combining AI-powered analytics, competitive intelligence, and innovation partnerships to help technology leadership anticipate challenges and capitalize on opportunities.  

As Strategic Intelligence Lead, you'll lead the team's analytical output and stakeholder relationships, directing Strategic Intelligence Partners to ensure our insights translate into strategic narratives that influence technology strategy decisions across the Group. 

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

Strategic Intelligence & Analysis 

• Lead strategic analysis combining quantitative workforce analytics, competitive intelligence, and emerging technology assessments to deliver comprehensive strategic recommendations 

• Validate and enhance AI-generated insights with domain expertise and organizational context, to form actionable strategic guidance with clear recommendations for senior technology leaders 

• Conduct scenario planning and risk modelling to support technology investment decisions and strategic planning processes 

Senior Stakeholder Management & Influence 

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with CTOs and senior technology leaders across Flutter's global operations 

• Serve as strategic advisor on technology investments, workforce planning, and emerging technology adoption strategies - with recommendations directly integrated into technology roadmaps and strategic planning cycles 

• Facilitate strategic workshops for senior executive audiences using the team's analytical content and intelligence outputs 

• Present complex strategic analysis to C-suite stakeholders with compelling narratives that drive decision-making 

Thought Leadership & Strategic Communication 

• Author strategic research publications including strategy papers, and industry analyses on emerging technology trends and their business implications 

• Represent Flutter externally at industry conferences, panels, and strategic forums as a thought leader in technology intelligence 

• Lead internal strategic thinking workshops and facilitate cross-functional discussions on technology strategy and innovation 

• Develop strategic frameworks that help technology leadership anticipate and respond to technological disruption 

Team Leadership & Quality Assurance 

• Oversee analytical quality by directing Strategic Intelligence Partners and coordinating across team functions to ensure accuracy, relevance, and strategic value of all outputs 

• Lead through Strategic Intelligence Partners by mentoring their development, directing analytical methodologies, and ensuring strategic thinking approaches meet stakeholder needs 

• Coordinate cross-functional initiatives with Partnerships, Events, and Platform teams to deliver integrated strategic intelligence 

• Drive continuous improvement in analytical processes and stakeholder engagement approaches

• Team Direction: Provides clear strategic direction to Strategic Intelligence Partners and coordinates team efforts to deliver complex analysis 

• Strategic Thinking: Maintains big-picture view of Group technology strategy while identifying competitive advantages, anticipating threats, and recognizing emerging opportunities 

• Focus Protection: Maintains strategic priorities and resists distractions, ensuring team and stakeholder attention remains on high-impact activities even when exciting distractions emerge 

• Delivery Consistency: Builds reputation for reliability across all touchpoints, creating confidence in stakeholders that commitments will be met 

Analytical & Innovation Excellence 

• Multi-Source Analysis: Synthesizes insights from quantitative data, qualitative research, competitive intelligence, and emerging technology assessments into coherent strategic narratives 

• Technology Expertise: Deep understanding of emerging technologies (AI/ML, quantum computing, spatial computing, blockchain) and their enterprise applications and strategic implications 

• Quality Assurance: Maintains objectivity and analytical rigor while adding strategic context and business implications to technical outputs 

• Continuous Learning: Stays current with technological developments, industry trends, and competitive dynamics affecting Flutter's strategic position 

Experience: 

• Significant experience in strategic consulting, technology strategy, or senior analytical roles within fast-paced digital organizations 

• Experience leading analytical teams or directing complex research projects through coordination of multiple contributors and stakeholders 

• Proven track record of influencing C-suite decision-making through strategic analysis and recommendations in technology environments 

• Extensive stakeholder management experience including regular engagement with senior technology leaders and cross-functional teams 

• Demonstrated expertise in strategic research, competitive analysis, and technology trend assessment with measurable business impact 

• Workshop facilitation experience with senior executive audiences, including design and delivery of strategic planning sessions 

• Strong presentation and communication skills with ability to translate complex technical concepts for business audiences 

Desirable Qualifications: 

• Advanced degree in Technology Management, Strategy, Economics, Engineering, or related field 

• Consulting background with tier-1 strategy consulting firms or equivalent strategic advisory experience in large corporate environments 

• Technology industry experience in high-growth, competitive environments with understanding of digital transformation challenges 

• Public speaking and thought leadership experience through conferences, publications, or industry forums 

• International experience working across multiple markets, cultures, and regulatory environments
