As SOC Team Lead, you will play a critical role in protecting The Rank Group’s digital estate by leading and coordinating the day‑to‑day operation of our Security Operations Centre. This is a hands‑on leadership role, combining technical expertise with people management, where you will guide SOC Level 1 Analysts through incident triage and response while ensuring 24/7 monitoring of our assets.
You will act as the key bridge between technical SOC operations and senior cyber leadership, translating complex security events into clear, actionable insights for the business.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead, mentor and develop SOC Level 1 Analysts, driving performance, engagement and continuous learning
- Own shift patterns and daily SOC operations, ensuring smooth handovers and full coverage
- Command and coordinate high‑severity incidents end‑to‑end, following best‑practice frameworks (e.g. NIST)
- Manage and optimise alerts, playbooks and detection rules to reduce false positives
- Oversee and continuously improve the SOC toolset (SIEM, EDR/XDR, SOAR)
What we’re looking for:
- Previous cybersecurity experience, with experience in a senior or lead SOC role
- Strong SIEM experience (e.g. Palo Alto Cortex XSIAM, ServiceNow ITSM)
- Experience with EDR and cloud security monitoring (AWS, Azure or GCP)
- Good working knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK
- Python or PowerShell scripting skills (desirable)
