Role Overview:

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you’ll play a key role in building and maintaining our on-prem infrastructure platform. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and observable infrastructure services that empower development teams and support business-critical workloads. 

This role blends deep technical expertise with strategic influence. You’ll treat infrastructure as a product, championing developer experience, operational excellence, and platform reliability across the organisation. 

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

Deliver and Operate Core Infrastructure Services 

  • Deploy and manage Platform as a product - Netapp, PureStorage with OpenStack integrations in private cloud environments;
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using Ansible and other IaC tools. 

Improve Reliability and Observability 

  • Integrate observability tools (e.g., Splunk) for monitoring and alerting;
  • Participate in incident response and root cause analysis;
  • Contribute to operational runbooks and documentation. 
     

Collaborate and Enable Platform Adoption 

  • Work with application and network teams to deliver integrated infrastructure solutions;
  • Build reusable automation patterns and templates;
  • Participate in technical deep-dives and knowledge-sharing sessions. 
     

Grow Technical Expertise and Influence 

  • Stay current with emerging technologies and propose improvements;
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of learning;
  • Support platform strategy through hands-on contributions and feedback. 

Skills, Capabilities & Experience Required:

  • Very Strong Experience with  NetApp, Pure Storage, and FSxN i n enterprise storage environments;
  • Experience with OpenStack, Linux systems, and virtualisation (KVM, libvirt);
  • Proficiency in Ansible, Python, Bash, and automation workflows;
  • Hands-on experience with DNS, DHCP, NTP, LDAP, and Bastion hosts;
  • Familiarity with Infoblox or similar IPAM/DNS platforms;
  • Experience with observability tools (Splunk preferred);
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, VPNs);
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows;
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
