SiGMA World is looking for a talented Senior News Writer / Journalist to join our dynamic SiGMA News team at our Malta, Noida, or Manila office. If you are passionate about in-depth reporting, industry analysis, and storytelling within the global gambling and betting sector, we want to meet you.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior News Writer / Journalist, you will:

• Produce in-depth, analytical articles and reports on industry-specific topics, focusing on providing unique insights and forecasting industry developments.
• Plan and conduct regular interviews with global industry experts and thought leaders.
• Generate innovative and engaging content ideas tailored to the interests and needs of SiGMA News’ audience.
• Conduct thorough research on industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements affecting the gambling sector.
• Stay abreast of emerging news and developments to identify fresh story opportunities and editorial angles.
• Edit and proofread articles to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency with our editorial standards and house style.
• Attend and report from SiGMA and non-SiGMA events to deliver timely onsite coverage.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of the global gambling industry, including its regulatory environment and key challenges.
• Engage and network with top-tier operators, stakeholders, and industry leaders to cultivate robust industry relationships.
• Collaborate with the SiGMA marketing team to promote news content across multiple channels.
• Support SEO optimization initiatives to increase the visibility, reach, and ranking of SiGMA News content.
• Mentor and provide feedback to newer writers, helping to develop talent and uphold editorial quality.
• Ensure all journalism adheres to legal requirements and ethical standards, protecting both our audience and reputation.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of editorial processes and workflows, promoting best practices.
• Assist in setting and maintaining editorial calendars, ensuring timely and consistent content delivery.
• Work closely with fellow writers and the multimedia team to craft comprehensive, multi-format news packages.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in news writing, journalism, or editorial roles (preferably within the gambling, betting, or tech sectors).
• Excellent research, interview, and communication skills.
• Demonstrable analytical thinking and the ability to deliver insights-driven content.
• Strong understanding of journalism ethics, legal issues, and editorial standards.
• Proven ability to mentor, lead, or coach writers.
• Familiarity with SEO processes and content optimization methods.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international, and multi-office environment.
• Willingness to travel for industry events as needed.
