About the Role

The Senior Manager of Analytics – Sports is a key strategic leader responsible for shaping the analytical vision, direction, and impact of the sportsbook business. This role drives commercial performance through advanced analytics, predictive modeling, experimentation, and deep customer insights.

Leading a team of 6–10 high-performing analysts, the Senior Manager partners with Sports Commercial, Trading, Product, Marketing, CRM, VIP, and Finance to identify opportunities, influence decision-making, and deliver transformative insights across acquisition, retention, pricing, promotions, and customer value.

The successful candidate will elevate the organization’s analytical maturity — strengthening KPI frameworks, improving offer and pricing efficiency, and enabling evidence-based decision-making that drives meaningful NGR growth.

Strategic Leadership & Commercial Impact

  • Own the sportsbook analytical strategy, ensuring alignment with commercial OKRs, product roadmaps, and market dynamics.

  • Influence senior leadership through high-quality insights on pricing, promotions, margin, customer cohorts, and market-level performance.

  • Lead the definition, tracking, and optimization of key sportsbook performance KPIs.

  • Build rigorous test & learn frameworks to evaluate new promotions, pricing changes, and product enhancements.

Advanced Analytics, Modeling & Experimentation

  • Oversee development of predictive models (retention, churn, promo elasticity, value forecasting).

  • Lead the execution of controlled experiments (A/B tests), including methodology, guardrails, success metrics, and insights.

  • Develop and advance analytic frameworks supporting customer segmentation, promotion ROI, cannibalization, and market performance.

Team Management & Talent Development

  • Manage, mentor, and grow a team of 6–10 analysts by developing technical skills, business acumen, and communication capability.

  • Prioritize workload and ensure analytical outputs are accurate, timely, and high-impact.

  • Build a culture of curiosity, rigorous thinking, and continuous improvement.

Operational Excellence & Data Enablement

  • Drive automation of recurring analytics and dashboarding, reducing manual outputs and accelerating speed-to-insight.

  • Partner with Data Engineering to build high-quality, model-ready and analysis-ready datasets.

  • Improve data quality, performance reporting, and insight accessibility for key stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Act as a strategic partner to Sports Commercial, Trading, Marketing, Product, VIP, and Finance.

  • Serve as the primary analytical advisor for sportsbook decision-making, including promotional optimization, customer strategy, and performance management.

  • Translate complex analytics into clear, compelling stories for senior stakeholders.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Analytics, Statistics, Business, or a related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in data analytics, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

  • Proven experience in the online gaming industry.

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R) and visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).

  • Experience with statistical modeling, A/B testing, and customer segmentation techniques.

  • Familiarity with online gaming platforms, trading systems, and marketing technologies.

Leadership & Soft Skills:

  • Strategic thinker with a proven ability to balance short-term results with long-term goals.

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex data insights for senior stakeholders.

  • Collaborative team player who excels in cross-functional environments.

  • Demonstrated success in coaching and developing high-performing analytics teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in high-growth industries such as online gaming, e-commerce, or digital media.

  • Familiarity with advanced attribution modeling and incrementality testing.

  • Experience in customer experience, commercial and VIP analytics

The annual salary range for this position is $141000 to $175000.  Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.  This position is also eligible for participation in a performance-based bonus plan.

Gaming Compliance & Licensing Requirements 

As an online gaming company, BetMGM is required to comply with state gaming regulations which includes licensing obligations.  Applicable employees must be licensed by at least one jurisdictional agency, although certain positions require licensing by multiple agencies.  Failure to become licensed or maintain licensure with each agency as required for the role may result in termination of employment.  Please note that the licensing process includes comprehensive background checks which may include a review of criminal records, financial history, and personal background verification.
