The Role:
The successful candidate needs to have an eye for detail and will be responsible for providing legal advice and support on a wide range of employment and privacy matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide practical, timely legal advice on employment issues, including employee terminations, complaints, and tailoring work schedules to meet business needs.
- Advise on privacy-related matters, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Draft and review employment/privacy documentation, such as contracts, policies and notices.
- Conduct in-depth research on legal topics relating to employment and privacy, referencing case law and regulatory updates.
- Identify legal issues, analyse legal risks, and assist in developing and implementing solutions.
- Support and advise other departments as necessary.
- Support team members as necessary.
- Liaise with external advisors and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance and resolve legal issues.
- Assist in building a scalable foundation for the Legal Team by developing templates, processes, and policies.
- Maintain records of group policies and procedures and ensure adherence internally and with relevant regulatory authorities.
Key Skills:
- 5 years’ experience as a practicing lawyer with particular focus and expertise in Employment and Privacy.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Strong knowledge in employment and privacy laws in Malta or Gibraltar.
- Multi-jurisdictional skills will be considered an asset.
- Strong analytical abilities and excellent written/verbal communication skills.
- High proficiency in English (verbal and written).
- Detail-oriented with strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Outcome-focused with a pragmatic approach to applying legal principles.
