What you’ll do:

As the Senior Finance Manager, you will have ownership of the accounting, reviewing, reporting and ensuring compliance with the control environment for PokerStars and the wider International Division. Reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting, key responsibilities will include overseeing the subsidiary financial statement, corporate filings and compliance deliverables. Other periodic responsibilities will include contributing towards Group reporting packs, Group financial statement disclosures and dealing with internal/external stakeholders.

This role is a critical position in our Accounts team to ensure we meet reporting requirements of a publicly listed company while implementing a robust controls environment. You will be a key member of the Reporting and Control leadership team.

The successful candidate will be heavily involved in working with the finance business partnering team in the creation of month end accounts for our business units in addition to their responsibilities for external financial reporting obligations. In addition to this, the successful candidate will be involved in the continued enhancing of processes and controls in line with the Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX), to support our US listing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Management of a team of highly capable qualified accountants and their own underlying reports, with responsibility for team and individual development; improving skillset and promoting best practice, together with a proactive culture that supports and anticipates change.

  • Close month end processes within required timelines for assigned channels including the preparation and review of general ledger entries.

  • Review and approval of monthly journal postings to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with SOX scoping requirements.

  • Leading local subsidiary audit relationships including planning, preparation, management of audit queries and dealing with stakeholders.

  • Operate a robust cost accruals process to ensure that costs are correctly accrued within the time constraints of a fast-close environment through use of automation where possible.

  • Review all significant variances within areas of responsibility for investigation and analysis to report back to Executive Mgt.

  • Prepare and review the financial packs for assigned departments to a high level of analysis with relevant commentary on variances.

  • Oversee the maintenance and improvement of internal controls.

  • Management of the Flutter International group recharge accounting working in unison with the transfer pricing team and central Flutter Group

  • Oversight of the team accounting for and disclosure of tax workings in conjunction with the Flutter International tax team

  • Other ad-hoc projects including support on the onboarding and integration of further businesses as the Division pursues inorganic growth opportunities.

What you’ll bring:

Essential

  • Fully qualified with one of the recognised accountancy bodies (preferably ACA)

  • Proven years post qualification experience in IFRS or US GAAP financial reporting for Group companies

  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS/US GAAP and ability to apply it in practice.

  • Good understanding of control environment relating to financial reporting

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Experience dealing with internal and external stakeholders to include explaining complex accounting issues to non-accountants

  • Demonstrable excellent organisation skills

  • An ability to deliver high quality work under pressure of tight deadlines

  • People management and team experience

  • Strong academic credentials (e.g. honours degree) and experience operating in a similar environment

  • Good team player with an ability to work independently.

  • Excellent time management skills

  • A driven, energetic and proactive individual who has a desire for continuous improvement and advancement.

Desirable

  • Experience working in a SOX regulated environment or highly regulated industry.

  • US GAAP accounting experience

  • Experience preparing technical accounting memos

  • Experience working in the finance department of a multinational environment.

  • Prior knowledge of Oracle accounting packages.

  • Experience in the gaming industry and gaming systems.

  • Technical knowledge and prior experience of dealing with accounting for acquisition and financing transactions
