What’s the position?
We are looking for a Senior Engineer - DevOps to join our growing Product & Technology organization at Hard Rock Digital. As a Senior Engineer, you will take a lead role in designing, scaling, and securing our next-generation gaming and entertainment platforms.
You’ll architect and drive delivery of highly available, compliant, and automated hybrid-cloud infrastructure spanning AWS, on-premises systems, and third-party platforms in regulated environments. This role demands deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to mentor and influence others across engineering disciplines.
You’ll set the technical vision for software delivery, infrastructure automation, and reliability—helping define and evolve best practices that shape the foundation of Hard Rock Digital’s cloud ecosystem.
What will you do?
As a Senior Engineer - DevOps, you will:
Architect and implement scalable AWS and hybrid cloud infrastructure using Terraform/Terragrunt and related Infrastructure as Code tools.
Design, build, and optimize highly available containerized environments leveraging EKS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
Lead the automation strategy for CI/CD pipelines (TeamCity, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, and similar), ensuring fast, secure, and reliable software delivery across environments.
Champion security by design, implementing guardrails, identity/access controls, and compliance-driven automation across infrastructure layers.
Collaborate cross-functionally with development, SRE, QA, security, and operations teams to improve system reliability, scalability, and developer efficiency.
Mentor junior engineers and help establish engineering best practices for infrastructure automation, cloud adoption, and operational excellence.
Drive continuous improvement in deployment processes, system resilience, and cost optimization across multiple environments.
What are we looking for?
We’re seeking an experienced engineer who thrives on solving complex, large-scale infrastructure challenges and driving meaningful technical impact. You should be comfortable taking ownership of architecture and implementation decisions while helping elevate the DevOps discipline across the organization.
The ideal candidate will have:
7+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or similar roles.
Expert-level knowledge of AWS services and cloud-native architectures (multi-account setups, VPC design, IAM policies, networking).
Strong experience with Kubernetes (EKS preferred), Docker, and Helm for container orchestration and management.
Advanced Infrastructure as Code (IaC) expertise using Terraform/Terragrunt, with deep understanding of modular design and reusability.
Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or other relevant languages.
Experience leading CI/CD initiatives and designing scalable delivery pipelines with GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or comparable tools.
Strong understanding of observability practices and performance monitoring frameworks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, Datadog, etc.).
Comprehensive knowledge of networking, security hardening, and compliance in regulated industries.
Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction in cross-functional teams.
AWS Professional Certification (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or SysOps Administrator) strongly preferred.
