What’s the position?

As Senior Director of Promotions, you will be responsible for the design, execution, and continual enhancement of our promotional strategy for the sports betting and broader online gaming segments. Reporting to the VP of CRM & Engagement, you will translate the company’s overarching marketing vision into a creative, data-driven promotions function. This role calls for a balance of strategic thinking, day-to-day operational leadership, and an innovative mindset—always informed by deep knowledge of the sports betting industry and a commitment to outstanding consumer engagement.

 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Alignment & Execution

  • Collaborate closely with the VP to ensure promotional initiatives align with the broader marketing strategy, brand positioning, and organizational goals.
  • Take the VP’s high-level vision and develop clear, data-backed promotional roadmaps that drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention.

 

Innovation & Forward Thinking

  • Lead a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement across promotions, championing test-and-learn approaches.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, proposing new concepts to keep Hard Rock Digital at the forefront of sports betting promotions.

 

Deep Sports Betting Expertise

  • Utilize a thorough understanding of sports betting operations and consumer behavior to shape compelling, market-leading promotional offerings.
  • Collaborate with trading, partnerships, and product teams to synchronize promotional efforts with key betting events, product launches, and seasonal opportunities.

 

Consumer Engagement

  • Drive personalization and relevancy in promotions by leveraging data analytics and segmentation strategies, ensuring each initiative resonates with target audiences.
  • Oversee the evolution of rewards programs and promotional offers that reward high-value behaviors, boost retention, and build brand affinity.

 

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Direct and develop a high-performing promotions team, offering mentorship and growth opportunities in line with the performance culture set by the VP.
  • Partner with Loyalty , Acquisition, Product, Brand, Partnership and Operation teams to integrate promotions seamlessly across the customer journey and maintain a unified brand experience.

 

Performance & Measurement

  • Define and track KPIs that demonstrate the effectiveness of promotions.
  • Manage budgets and promotional spend, adjusting tactics as needed for optimal ROI and timely achievement of targets.

  • Outstanding Sports Betting Knowledge: Significant experience in online sports betting or a closely related field, with an understanding of key market dynamics and operational considerations.
  • Consumer-Centric Focus: Skilled at developing targeted campaigns that enhance customer experiences, loyalty, and lifetime value.
  • Collaborative Approach: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and under the guidance of senior leadership to ensure promotional success and brand consistency.
  • Proven People Management: Experience building, mentoring, and scaling high-performing teams in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
