Let's start with the role
As a Senior Data Quality Analyst, you will take ownership of defining, measuring, and improving data quality across critical data domains, ensuring our data is accurate, complete, and trusted for decision-making, regulatory reporting, and operational excellence. You will collaborate with data owners, stewards, engineers, and compliance stakeholders to drive data quality initiatives across the organisation, particularly within a highly regulated betting and gaming environment.
As a Senior Data Quality Analyst, you will:
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
- Review newly reported data quality issues and collaborate with data owners and engineers to investigate root causes.
- Profile datasets using SQL or data quality tools to assess accuracy, completeness, consistency and integrity.
- Monitor and analyze data quality KPIs and support data remediation initiatives.
- Update and maintain data quality dashboards or reports to monitor KPIs and communicate trends to stakeholders.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to align on data governance priorities.
- Collaborate with data stewards, owners, and custodians to promote data governance quality analysis best results.
- Assist with compliance-related data initiatives (e.g., GDPR, AML, Responsible Gaming reporting).
- Identify and document data quality issues and propose corrective actions. Record findings, rule logic, and remediation plans in the data catalog or governance platform.
- Evaluate and support data governance tools (e.g., Atlan, Collibra, Informatica, Microsoft Purview).
- Contribute to the evolution of the data quality framework and best practices.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Operations Research or related field).
- 4+ years’ experience in data quality, data governance οr data management roles, reporting, statistical or quantitative roles. Experience in data governance roles will be considered a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of data quality frameworks and dimensions.
- Understanding of core data governance concepts and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to clearly document technical and business concepts.
- Relevant experience with BI/analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and data governance or quality tools (e.g. Atlan, Informatica, etc) will be considered a plus.
- Proficient in SQL for data profiling, validation, and root cause analysis. Highly advanced with MS-Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups) and Gsuite experience.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams. Experience managing stakeholders at various levels.
- Strong analytical mindset, with attention to detail and a commitment to data quality.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, meet deadlines and identify opportunities with limited oversight, while aligning with business goals.
- Strong understanding of data architecture, especially within cloud data platforms.
- Experience in a regulated industry (e.g. betting, fintech, healthcare, telco) is a strong plus.
- High drive, a can-do attitude, proactiveness and adaptability to changing business demands.
