About Flutter Functions:

The Flutter Functions division is a key component of Flutter Entertainment, responsible for providing essential support and services across the organization. The division encompasses various corporate functions, including finance, legal, human resources, technology, and more, ensuring seamless operations and strategic alignment throughout the company

The Role :

Flutter’s Procurement function governs over $6bn of third-party spend across divisions, regions and brands. It is supported by Sourcing, Category Management, Contract Management, Supplier Risk and Due Diligence teams. The Procurement Data and Insights team sits alongside these groups to convert raw data into reliable, actionable intelligence for decision making and value delivery.

Reporting to the Procurement Data and Insights Lead, the Senior Data Engineer is responsible for managing all procurement related data pipelines, governance and analytics through the Databricks platform. The role executes the roadmap and priorities set by the Lead, translating business requirements into stable pipelines, trusted datasets and audit-ready controls. The Senior Data Engineer owns day to day data operations, data quality and policy execution, privacy and access management, lifecycle and storage, monitoring and incident response, and the certification and documentation that underpin self-service analytics across Procurement. The Senior Data Engineer is expected to lead and be responsible for the work of the whole of the data engineering team, and as such be able to lead by example. This is a technical role with a potential management responsibility later in the role’s development path. In the first instance, as the first member of the data engineering team – they are the whole of the team.

Working closely with the Lead, the Insights Manager and technology counterparts, the Senior Data Engineer ensures robust integration with upstream and downstream systems, manages schema changes and data contracts, and leads functional testing for data layers prior to release. The role stewards master and reference data such as but not limited to supplier normalisation, maintains the catalogue and lineage, and continuously improves performance, reliability and cost effectiveness of the platform. By delivering scalable, well governed and well documented data products, the Senior Data Engineer enables dashboards, models and KPIs to be built on a single source of truth and ensures data is not just reported but usable for measurable impact across the Procurement function.
