Job title: Senior Audience Engagement Specialist

Overview of the role:
The Senior Audience Engagement Specialist drives user re-engagement, CRM execution, and audience-facing marketing initiatives across PokerNews’ global audience. This role focuses on retention, community touchpoints, event-driven engagement, and supporting commercial partner activations through coordinated messaging and campaigns.
While the role is global in scope, it includes additional responsibility for assisting with regional engagement initiatives in SEU markets (France, Spain, Portugal) and Brazil where applicable, ensuring campaigns are relevant across key international audiences.
This is a hands-on execution role ideal for someone who understands digital audiences, enjoys crafting targeted communications, and thrives in a dynamic, content-driven environment.
This role follows a hybrid approach to working, allowing you to combine working from home with working in our modern offices. These discussions are between you and your manager to find the best pattern for you both, while recognising that quality time together is essential for keeping us mission-aligned.
What you’ll do:
Develop and execute various CRM campaigns, to increase returning users across PokerNews.com social channels, and content productions such as the PokerNews podcast
plan and execute the newsletter editorial calendar across all products (news, poker evergreen content, casino, etc.)
Build re-engagement flows tied to editorial content, live events, and marketing campaigns.
Implement a segmented push-notification plan based on user interests and product categories
Create segmented audience journeys based on behavior, interests, and activity
analyze and optimize the sign-up acquisition funnels to increase the number of users added to the PokerNews databases
Manage segmentation strategies to deliver highly personalized communications based on user behavior, interests, and product interactions.
Design, test, and iterate A/B and multivariate experiments to optimize messaging, timing, and channel selection and build automated lifecycle workflows covering onboarding, engagement and reactivation
support offline and live-event marketing and brand initiatives by capturing, nurturing, and converting leads into long-term users
ensure data accuracy, compliance with privacy regulations and gambling restrictions.
Partner Activation Support
Support audience-facing components of commercial partner campaigns
Be a key point of contact with clients in terms of planning promotional activity
Coordinate timing, assets, and delivery with commercial and content teams.
Support SEU and Brazil regional campaigns when local nuance is required.
Work with Regional Leads to tailor messaging or timing for specific markets.
Coordinate with freelancers in SEU regions for localized promotions or community moments.
Audience & Community Engagement
Identify opportunities to highlight major stories
Support development of tools such as MyStack/MyPlayers, promotions, and features
Foster and nurture community interaction through various social platforms, Reddit, Discord, YouTube, Facebook groups, and more
Craft engagement hooks and messaging around big poker moments (WSOP, EPT, WPT, regional festivals)
Act as a bridge between the PokerNews team and the poker community, gathering feedback and amplifying user voices
Support community-focused initiatives (giveaways, contests, player spotlights)
Develop customer insights reports
Event-Driven Engagement
Assist in planning engagement campaigns around major poker events.
Support onsite engagement initiatives when required (remote coordination or occasional travel).
Collaborate with Live Events, Digital Media, and Editorial teams to amplify event-driven stories and content
Customer Experience & Support
Own the customer touchpoints (email, social DMs, feedback forms) ensuring timely, professional responses.
Translate customer feedback into actionable improvements across PokerNews’s platforms.
Work with the affiliate/commercial team to align engagement initiatives with partner goals.
Reporting & Insights
Maintain CRM, engagement and retention dashboards.
Track returning user trends, reactivation, and campaign lift
Provide insights to help refine audience strategy
Collaborate with other stakeholders to optimize user journeys
What you’ll bring:
Demonstrated experience in CRM, digital marketing, community engagement, or retention-focused roles.
Strong writing and messaging skills.
Strong experience with CRM platforms and tools
Proficient in utilizing a suite of analytical tools (GA4, Looker Studio, etc.).
Good understanding of digital content and audience behavior.
Strong organization and coordination skills.
Comfortable working cross-functionally and occasionally supporting live events.
