Job Description

ABOUT US:

Are you looking for an Accountant position that’s challenging and rewarding? Join us!

Sportradar is a leading global sports technology company creating immersive experiences for sports fans and bettors. Positioned at the intersection of the sports, media and betting industries, we provide sports federations, news media, consumer platforms and sports betting operators with a best-in-class range of solutions to help grow their business. As the trusted partner of organizations like the NBA, NHL, MLB, NASCAR, UEFA, FIFA, Bundesliga, ICC and ITF, Sportradar covers close to a million events annually across all major sports. We are looking for a proactive and detailed-driven Senior Accountant to join our centralized accounting team.

In this role, you will help build the finance backbone of a NASDAQ-listed, hyper-growth sports technology company. You’ll own the GL for several international entities, tighten our SOX-ready controls, and deliver a close that company leadership rely on to make real-time decisions. It’s a rare chance to combine IFRS depth, public-company rigor, and sports-tech scale.

THE CHALLENGE:

  • End-to-end general ledger for several legal entities (Europe), including intercompany, FX, fixed assets, prepayments, accruals.
  • Month/quarter/year-end close: journals, reconciliations, analytics; deliver a clean P&L and BS pack to FP&A and Group.
  • reconciliation suite across cash, creditors, debtors, FA, prepayments, settlement accounts - operate and improve SOX-aligned controls.
  • VAT & withholding tax data preparation and coordination with Tax.
  • Audit readiness: support local and group audits; drive resolution of findings.
  • Process improvement & automation: reduce manual work, standardize across entities.

What success looks like (6–12 months)

  • Consistently hit close deadlines; zero significant control deficiencies.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations- no material unreconciled items.
  • 2–3 automation wins (e.g., auto-match rules in bank recs, template journals, close checklists).
  • Praised by stakeholders for timely, decision-ready reporting.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Degree or qualification in Accounting/Finance; 4+ years in GL or audit; international multi-entity experience.
  • Strong IFRSSOX exposure a plus.
  • Tools: Excel power-user; Dynamics365, preferred (BlackLine/Power BI nice to have).
  • English fluency and German required.
  • Detail-obsessed, improvement-minded, comfortable in fast growth.

OUR OFFER:

  • A collaborative environment with colleagues from all over the world (Engineering offices in Europe, Asia and US) including various social events and teambuilding.
  • Flexibility to manage your workday and tasks with autonomy.
  • A balance of structure and autonomy to tackle your daily tasks.
  • Vibrant and inclusive community, including Women in Tech and Pride groups which welcome all participants.
  • Global Employee Assistance Programme
  • Calm and Reulay app (leading well-being apps designed to support focus, quality rest, mindfulness, and long-term mental resilience).
  • Online training videos
  • Flexible working hours

While we appreciate the flexibility and benefits of working from home, we strongly believe that coming together in person fosters stronger connections, encourages collaboration, and drives innovation—both as individuals and as a company. The energy, shared ideas, and team support we experience in the office strengthen the foundation of our success and culture. For this reason, we are an office-first business operating on a hybrid model, with team members working in the office three days a week to build relationships, exchange ideas, and grow together.

Total compensation above Austrian market median with overpayment based on experience (CBA minimum fulfilled).

OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS:

  • Initial Screening: A quick chat with our Talent Acquisition Partner to understand your background and expectations.
  • Interview: meet with the Hiring Manager and discuss team fit.
  • Onsite Interview: Meet with the local team and take a tour of our office for a final meet-and-greet.
  • Finals Steps: Receive feedback and, if successful, an offer!
