Job Description

Our global People Solutions team strives to create and deliver a seamless and positive employee experience across the entire employee lifecycle. Our aim is to develop efficient and simple people processes, systems, and maximise our technology.

We are seeking a Product Owner to join the team and lead the day-to-day planning, delivery and optimisation of our Oracle HCM platform. This role is critical in aligning HR technology solutions with business objectives, ensuring the platform supports efficient HR operations and an excellent employee experience.

The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of Oracle HCM Cloud modules (particularly Core HR) and your experience with Redwood will be plus. You will understand agile product management practices, have implemented new Oracle HCM modules and have a deep understanding of integrations.

Your stakeholder management skills and ability to communicate will be what sets you apart from others, and you will be passionate about coaching and training less experienced members of the team and the wider business.

We’re looking for an execution-focused individual who can look at the big picture from a user experience, technology, and business standpoint. You'll be keen to challenge our assumptions and ways of working, rethink existing processes, and see every challenge as an opportunity for improvement. 

Key responsibilities include: 

Strategic vision:

  • Support the Product Manager to develop and maintain a clear product vision and roadmap for the Oracle HCM platform, aligned with HR business goals and organisational strategy. This includes the rebuild of our Oracle HCM system and deploying the Redwood upgrade globally.
  • Gather and prioritise strategic requirements from HR leadership, stakeholders, and users.
  • Conducting demos and collating feedback with valuable insights.

Tactical delivery:

  • Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring stories are well-defined, prioritised, and ready for development. Lead sprint planning, reviews and backlog grooming sessions for Oracle HCM changes.
  • Translate HR business needs into clear functional and technical requirements for the development team.
  • Work closely with developers to ensure successful delivery of new features and improvements.
  • Actively involved in performing internal testing, documenting unit testing scripts, reviewing user acceptance criteria and smoke testing for platform upgrades.
  • Handling Hypercare post go live and assisting during the control room activities 

Stakeholder Management and Communication:

  • Be the key point of contact between HR stakeholders and the Oracle HCM development team.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement with key business areas to gather and prioritise business requirements
  • Gather feedback from HR users and continuously improve the system based on user experience insights.

Governance and Best Practices:

  • Ensure adherence to data privacy, compliance, and security standards in all Oracle HCM configurations and workflows.
  • Define and maintain governance structures and approval processes for HR system changes and upgrades.
  • Maintain system documentation, process maps, and configuration records to support HR operations and audits.

Operational Excellence:

  • Support change management activities — including training, communications, and adoption initiatives for new Oracle HCM capabilities.

Team Management and Leadership

  • Manage, coach and mentor Oracle HCM analyst(s)
  • Conduct regular 1:1’s and provide feedback and career development planning
  • Encourage a mindset of experimentation, user feedback and data informed decision making

 

 

Qualifications

Essential

  • Expert knowledge of Oracle HCM technology, processes, integrations and reporting tools
  • Demonstrable experience of product ownership of Core HR and Oracle HCM modules in a global setting - Only. 
  • Strong product owner skills, including roadmap development, backlog management, user story writing, and prioritisation techniques.
  • Technology savvy, self-starter with a passion for project work, leading and driving initiatives
  • Strong business insight and judgment to navigate ambiguity
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of HR processes and systems, such as onboarding, case management, employee lifecycle, and HR service.
  • Familiarity with system governance, data privacy, and compliance requirements, especially in an HR context.
  • Leadership and team management skills, including training, mentoring, and supervising a small team or project group.
