About Flutter UKI 

Flutter UK & Ireland are the UKI region of Flutter Entertainment. They unite a dozen brands including powerhouses Paddy Power, Betfair, Tombola and Sky Betting & Gaming, bringing together hundreds of teams and thousands of colleagues, who create trusted entertainment for millions of customers every week. 

Role Overview:

We are looking for an exceptional Product Owner to deliver game-changing improvements for Betfair’s customers and business. Reporting to a Product Owner Manager and part of our Product team, you’ll bridge business and technology, shaping solutions that solve real customer problems while driving measurable impact. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development at great speed. You are oriented towards the product strategy and responsible for its execution, empowering teams to explore problems and solutions while ensuring alignment with business goals.

If you have experience in fintech, e-commerce or payments space —especially with PSP integrations, payment methods, or payment flow optimisation— that’s a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Leads requirements gathering effort based on stakeholders' input 
• Lead backlog refinement, prioritisation, and sprint planning to ensure focus on the highest-value work
• Translate customer and stakeholder feedback into actionable product requirements and user stories
• Define release plans, run show and tell, produce release communications and track benefits realization 
• Maintains the written 'source of truth': documented user stories recording the agreed 
  requirements of all stakeholders to enable traceability and re-use. 
• Accountable for the timely availability and accuracy of requirements for development projects, ensuring the engineering teams can develop software as efficiently as possible 
• Create and maintain high-quality business and product documentation for the area you are responsible for and projects on which you are working
• Collaborate closely with UX and Engineering to ensure solutions meet quality, usability, and performance standards
• Drive delivery from discovery to release, tracking impact through data and customer feedback
• Use data and insights to identify opportunities, validate hypotheses, and inform decision-making
• Communicate progress, learnings, and delivery outcomes clearly to stakeholders at all levels
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team, championing collaboration and customer-centric thinking
• Understands the dependencies between technology components and how they combine to deliver solutions to the end consumer and to the business
• Understands and balances commercial needs against technical requirements and capabilities
• Ensures that all solutions meet company-wide 'hygiene' requirements in terms of functional, non-functional performance, security, compliance, social responsibility 
• Identifies risks and raises concerns in due time when applicable, along with mitigation options
• Contribute to technical discussions (e.g. scalability, architecture) and understand the benefits and drawbacks of different technical solutions

Key Skills and Attributes:

• Previous experience in the Product Owner role and experience in product development
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data informed approach to decisions
• Excellent documentation skills with the ability to translate complex requirements into clear, concise, structured artefacts and business documentation
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, drives for simplicity and clarity, able to confidently present and influence senior management 
• Ability to balance commercial goals, technical constraints and customer experience considerations
• Knowledge of A/B testing and experimentation principles
• Google Analytics 
• Solid understanding of structured delivery lifecycle and agile methodologies
• Experience in payments, fintech or e-commerce is a strong advantage
