Do you want to contribute to providing a key service to sports websites around the world? We are looking for a Product Owner to lead the development of our in-house Generative AI services that will enable BC to leverage the collective intelligence of the group which is powered by numerous journalists and content writers around the world.
About the role
As Product Manager for several of our sports media assets, you will define and drive the product strategy across a portfolio of high-traffic sports websites, mobile apps, and social media channels. You will be responsible for supporting a product vision that elevates user experience, strengthens audience engagement, and supports our commercial goals across multiple markets.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams — including Design & UX, Delivery, Digital Intelligence, Revenue Operations, SEO, Editorial, and Engineering — to ensure that your roadmap is both strategically aligned and operationally realistic. You will translate business objectives and user needs into actionable product initiatives, guiding your teams through discovery, prioritisation, and execution.
You will play a central part in shaping how millions of sports fans consume news, statistics, and betting-related content across our digital platforms. This role requires a balance of strategic thinking, strong stakeholder management, and hands-on product development leadership.
Your main responsibilities
Establish and communicate a compelling product roadmap for our sports media platforms across web, app, and social channels, according to the product vision set out by the Business Owners and your direct manager (Snr. Global Director of Product – Sports Media)
Own and maintain the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives, user needs, and revenue opportunities
Partner with key teams (Design & UX, Delivery, Digital Intelligence, Revenue Operations, SEO, Editorial) to gather insights, identify dependencies, and ensure high-quality execution
Lead the product development process by defining product goals, writing clear requirements, and managing the backlog on a daily basis with the help of your Delivery Manager
Analyse product performance using analytics, research, and experimentation to inform prioritisation and continuous optimisation with the help of our Digital Intelligence team
Ensure data-driven and performance-focused enhancements are integrated into the product roadmap
Facilitate collaboration across teams, creating clarity around expectations, milestones, risks, and delivery timelines
Champion a user-centric mindset, ensuring that decisions balance editorial quality, business impact, and a best-in-class sports fan experience, while using your business acumen to make sure Product meets Revenue needs
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner, ideally within media, sports, sports betting or other content-driven digital products
You are passionate about sports and stay up to date with sports news, fan behaviour trends, and digital media consumption
You have strong stakeholder management skills and thrive in an environment with multiple teams and competing priorities
You understand how content, design, UX, tech, data, and SEO come together to shape successful digital media products
You have experience and have worked with JIRA, as well as been a part of delivery ceremonies such as sprint planning and reviews
You are able to break down complex challenges into clear product initiatives and actionable steps
You communicate confidently, set clear expectations, and can facilitate discussions that lead to aligned outcomes
You can interpret data to make informed product decisions and are comfortable discussing metrics, funnels, and KPIs with a business and P&L mindset
You proactively identify risks, propose solutions, and maintain structure even in fast-moving environments
You are delivery-focused and know how to rally teams around common goals and clear milestones
