Job Description

We are seeking a Procurement Planning, Insights & Performance Lead to join our team, working closely with the Group Procurement Director. You’ll play a pivotal role in identifying & driving improvements across Procurement team performance. Our Procurement teams support renowned consumer brands like Ladbrokes, Coral, Gala, Foxy, Bwin and Party globally. 

Key responsibilities

  • Support the Group Procurement Director in using data driven insights and analysis to support the Procurement leadership team in refining and updating procurement functional and performance strategies – prioritising strategic and high value programmes and initiatives. Including presentation materials for the Ex Co
  • Support the Group Procurement Director to synthesize different strands of complex procurement and performance data, strategic initiatives, and market trends into clear and compelling narratives for Ex Co and above level communications
  • Support improvements in strategic procurement savings pipeline management and planning rigour – ensuring alignment with key finance business partners
  • To business partner with the Group Procurement Director, Finance Directors in Commercial, Corporate and across various entities and markets to support the Procurement function’s financial performance planning, measurement and cost savings delivery, through the provision of high quality planning, tracking, forecasting, budgeting and analysis. The role will require establishing and optimising new processes between procurement leadership team members and financial directors across the business.
  • Partner with key financial directors on behalf of Procurement to input into the budget setting process including supplier risks/ cost movement assumptions & the annual setting of procurement saving targets.
  • To design, deploy and maintain a robust procurement savings methodology and measurement tracking process. Partnering with finance directors to ensure this is embedded into the business through training and support.
  • Partnering with our Procurement Infrastructure team to adapt the current Monday project initiative system to ensure we track and validate value / cost savings initiatives which can be reported to financial directors across the business. Educate and train our procurement teams in new ways of working
  • Assist and coach procurement team members and procurement leadership team in calculating benefits and the correct application of the savings methodology (eg cash/working capital, cost avoidance, cost savings (in plan or incremental to financial plan and P/L)
  • Partnering with Financial Controller, Accounts Payable Teams and Procurement teams to drive improvements in supplier cash and working capital strategies across our supply base
  • Forming deep trusted relationships and trust with Corporate, Product, Technology and Central and Market Commercial Finance Directors
  • Partnering with Group Procurement Director, Infrastructure Procurement Director and Procurement Leadership team to develop  and maintain 1 – 3 year savings and value pipelines, in alignment with key business stakeholders and finance
  • Partnering with the Procurement Infrastructure Team on initiatives to continue to improve the Spend Analytics platform, Sievo
  • Digital, automation and AI fluency – ability to recommend options to drive improvement and simplification

Performance Insight and Value Creation

  • Responsible for the preparation of monthly reporting for the Procurement Leadership Team and wider stakeholder meetings including the Monthly Business Review Meeting
  • Monthly savings performance and pipeline vs. budget
  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting and planning processes for procurement, which feeds the wider business process, ensuring alignment between category leads, and finance across the business.
  • Drafting of monthly forecast assumptions for key procurement categories, including understanding and communicating their impact on wider Group financials, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain governance processes to ensure quality and consistency of the savings data reported in the Monday system
  • Continually challenge the Procurement function to improve financial, commercial and operational performance and respond quickly and effectively to any problems or adverse trends
  • Support Category teams in the analysis and identification of savings opportunities, establishing baseline financials and volumes
  • Develop insights from the Procurement Spend Analytics Tool (Sievo, other) and champion its use across the organisation with the Procurement Infrastructure Team
  • Ensure procurement compliance with financial control requirements, in alignment with the Group Financial Controller and Accounts Payable teams

  • Project Management at pace of key business priorities through leadership with various cross-functional stakeholder groups
  • Builds partnerships and maintains strong relationships with the ability to listen, interpret, influence, negotiate, inspire, and challenge
  • Interpret and succinctly communicate insights and findings from analysis and test and learn opportunities to optimise business processes
  • Identify and share improved ways of working to increase output and process simplification

Qualifications

  • Provide exceptional business partnering with the procurement function and the wider business.
  • Demonstrate an ability to listen, interpret, influence, negotiate, inspire and challenge.
  • Experience in a top tier consulting firm (c.5 years), internal audit, finance and or accounting background and relevant qualifications
  • Thrives in both high level strategy discussion and hands- on execution
  • Adept at managing multiple priorities, navigating ambiguity and driving alignment across senior stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills at all levels of an organisation
  • Advanced Excel skills and PPT skills, able to draw conclusions and influence decisions
  • Sound analytical skills, with the ability to add actionable insight to data
  • Result-oriented, having a track record of high performance and examples of delivering results
  • Proven experience in a matrix multinational environment
  • Qualified ACCA / ACA / CIMA
