The People Generalist manages employee relations, provides HR insights and reporting, and supports People Partners and business leaders across the organization. This role proactively identifies opportunities related to employee and leadership development, engagement, attrition, and headcount management. The People Generalist provides consistent, high-quality support to RSI employees and people managers and plays a key role in expanding the People Partner team’s presence while advancing culture and people initiatives. The role also contributes to maintaining and updating People policies, SOPs, and how-to guides within Confluence.
What You'll Do:
- Manage employee relations matters in partnership with the People Partners, including disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, documentation, and performance management.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and people managers by providing timely guidance on policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Compile and analyze HR metrics and reports from Workday, employee surveys, and other people systems; provide insights that support People Partners and business leaders.
- Contribute to maintaining and updating People policies, SOPs, process documentation, and employee resources in Confluence.
- Assist with policy rollouts and communications, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment across the organization.
- Partner with the benefits team to manage employee leaves and ensure employees understand available resources.
- Support employee surveys, including fielding questions, providing platform support, and assisting with interpretation of results.
- Support culture, engagement, and organizational development initiatives.
- Assist with annual People initiatives such as merit and bonus planning, performance reviews, and engagement surveys.
- Support offboarding processes by scheduling and conducting exit interviews, and ensuring all required steps are completed accurately.
- Provide transactional support for employee and organizational changes in Workday and Jira, including promotions, transfers, manager updates, location changes, and other organizational moves.
- Ensure compliance with labor regulations across applicable jurisdictions (U.S. and Canada).
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business, or a related field
- SHRM or PHR Certification, preferred
- 3+ years experience in Human Resources, or related field.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build trust and influence employees and managers.
- Demonstrated discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment when handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to assess risk and make recommendations aligned with business needs and People policies.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in an evolving, dynamic organization and adapting to change effectively.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. employment laws and regulations (required).
- Familiarity with Canadian employment laws and HR practices (preferred).
- Proficiency in Workday or similar HRIS for data review, reporting, and processing employee changes.
- Ability to use data and metrics to identify insights, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to cultivate positive working relationships across teams.
- Experience supporting employee relations matters.
- Project management or change management experience supporting People initiatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Familiarity with Confluence, Jira, or similar platforms for documentation, workflow, and ticket management
- Able to travel occasionally both domestically and international #LI-HYBRID
