We're looking for a Payroll Analyst to contribute to the success of our wider People team based in our Sofia office. Reporting into our Global Payroll Analyst, this role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day administration of the Bulgarian payroll. The role covers management of payroll production, data gathering, validation and transfer to providers, along with validation of payroll outputs to ensure the accuracy of the company’s payrolls. Acting as a point of contact for internal and external partners, the role requires a highly professional individual, with a keen eye for detail, who can analyse and present data clearly and effectively.

What you’ll be doing:
- Responsibility for supporting production of the monthly payroll in Bulgaria – working within a team delivering non-UK payrolls across multiple countries processed by outsourced payroll partners covering 1,000+ employees, with the potential for future growth in existing and new territories.
- Collaboration with teams across the organisation, such as People Services, Reward, Tax and Finance, to ensure accurate and timely processing of payrolls, and off-cycle adjustments as needed.
- Extracting pre-payroll reports and gathering data for payrolls to ensure all relevant employee data is compiled and validated before transferring to outsourced payroll partners each period following the agreed timelines.
- Extraction and analysis of payroll outputs from providers and supporting query handling.
- Providing excellent customer service for colleagues and business partners – providing post-payroll reports, responding to emails and more complex payroll cases in a timely and efficient manner.
- Supporting ongoing work with local country tax agencies to ensure filing compliance.
- Staying up to speed with payroll impacting legislation/best practices to ensure accurate processing of payrolls and identify areas of improvement.
- Assisting with global year-end tax reporting requirements.
- Supporting with data gathering and analysis across all payrolls for ad hoc payroll data requests/auditing from various areas of the business.
- Works on global and local level projects on activities including bringing new and existing payrolls globally under the control of the People Services Payroll Team
- Actively seek and contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance customer experience.
- Take ownership in delivery of payroll and project activities.
What we need from you:
- Are you a graduate or do you have a payroll qualification?
- Do you have good understanding of Bulgarian and/or foreign employment tax legislation?
- Do you have a good understanding of payroll processes? Knowledge of outsourced payroll processes would be ideal but not essential.
- Do you have strong communication and written skills?
- Do you have intermediate level Excel skills (complex formulas, vlookups, pivot tables)?
- Experience of Oracle HR and Payroll systems or similar systems is desirable.
- Do you have good problem solving and data analytical skills, with a high attention to detail?
- Do you have strong experience of being able to organise/prioritise tasks as well as manage time effectively?
- Experience working in a payroll role covering all aspects of payroll processing would be preferable.
- Experience of working across multiple payrolls.
- Experience of working on outsourced payrolls and/or global payroll processing is a plus.
