Role Purpose

The Paid Social Media Specialist plays a key role in driving Betway Africa’s digital growth. This execution‑focused position develops and manages performance-driven paid social media campaigns, using data and platform expertise to optimise results and provide strategic guidance that supports broader marketing goals.

Key Responsibilities

Paid Social Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement comprehensive paid social media strategies to support acquisition, engagement and retention.

  • Plan, execute and optimise campaigns across multiple platforms (Meta, Instagram, X, TikTok, etc.).

  • Ensure campaigns are scalable, efficient and aligned with business KPIs.

Performance Management & Reporting

  • Monitor performance and analyse data to generate insights and actionable recommendations.

  • Manage budgets to maximise ROI and achieve KPIs.

  • Produce detailed performance reports for stakeholders and senior management.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the broader marketing team to align campaign activities with overall marketing direction.

  • Partner with creative teams to develop compelling ad creatives and copy.

  • Engage external partners and agencies when required.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, platform updates and emerging best practices.

  • Use audience, platform and performance insights to refine strategies continuously.

  • CPA/CPL performance

  • ROAS and cost-efficiency metrics

  • First-time depositor and registration growth

  • Engagement and retention performance

  • Budget pacing accuracy and scalability

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, or related field.

  • 3+ years of experience managing paid social media campaigns (gaming/entertainment preferred).

  • Strong understanding of social media advertising platforms.

  • Proficiency with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Meta Ads Manager, etc.).

  • Meta Blueprint certification or similar accreditation.

  • Excellent project management and leadership capabilities.

  • Creative thinking with a flare for innovative solutions.

  • Ability to work within regulated industries and follow compliance processes.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of sports betting markets, odds and market trends.

  • Experience in online gaming or casino environments.

  • Understanding of gambling regulations across jurisdictions.

  • Experience developing customer retention strategies.

  • Exposure to additional platforms (Snapchat Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Reddit Ads, programmatic social).
