Job Purpose:  

We are looking for a newly/part qualified accountant to join the management accounts team. This is a full-time post and would suit someone who is flexible and able to meet tight deadlines of various month end tasks.  Accuracy, attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to work individually as well as part of a team are essential. 

 

The management accounts team is a fast-paced, dynamic department covering full general ledger responsibilities for Rank Interactive.  We are in the process of centralising and developing the financial control environment, and further expansion of the team and its responsibilities is underway, with the possibility of further centralisation of activity.   

 

This is a great opportunity for the right individual to join our finance department and be a part of the change we are delivering within the Rank Group.  You will report to the Financial Controller - Shared Services and have accountability to segment finance directors with the possibility of future opportunities across the finance organisation. 

 

Main Accountabilities & Responsibilities: 

Ensure accurate and timely month end reporting for the Shared Services business unit (BU), including: 

  • Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly and yearly financial statements, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial information. 
  • Maintain clean general ledgers and sub-ledgers, ensuring balance sheet accounts are reconciled fully and reconciling items are addressed and cleared on a timely basis. 
  • Assist in the review and update to the BU allocations based on discussions with department heads on a monthly basis. 
  • Preparation of monthly budget vs actual financial analysis to be presented to BU department heads and management to support decision-making and strategic planning. 
  • Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and collections. 
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly cashflow forecasts. 
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual BU budgets and quarterly reforecasts for senior management. 
  • Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial models, providing guidance to department heads and executives. 
  • Support audits and tax filings, liaising with external accounting firms and regulatory bodies as required. 
  • Provide financial guidance to department heads and executives, developing key performance indicators and tracking results to support business objectives. 
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends, best practices and regulatory requirements, incorporating these into financial policies and procedures as required. 
  • Assist on improving processes and systems. 
  • Assess and review financial controls, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement. 

 

What’s needed for success – Experience & Qualifications: 

  • Qualified/ partly qualified/ qualified by experience accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.) with a track record of delivering to timescales 
  • At least 3-years relevant working experience in a similar position. 
  • A desire for continuous improvement around financial control and processes to ensure real value-add to the business. 
  • Preferred, but not essential, understanding of the commercial drivers of the Online Gaming industry ideally through experience of working in the Online Gaming sector or equivalent online industry 
  • The ability to confidently engage with colleagues, internal and external, across the organization 
  • Strong experience of management accounting through to delivery of full management accounts and with proven track record of delivery of timely and accurate information and reports. 
  • Good system knowledge, ideally D365.  
  • Strong focus on financial controls with motivation to ensure all reconciliations performed on time and confidence to flag risks to management. 
  • A methodical structured individual with good analytical skills and an eye for detail.  
  • Ability to plan and manage own time effectively to ensure delivery against deadlines.  
  • Ability to prioritise and problem solve and make recommendations for process improvements as required.  
  • Commitment and self-motivation with a high standard of professionalism and ethics.  
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with proven track record of working with senior finance and operations.  
  • Good team player; able to work effectively as part of the operations support team.  
  • Flexible working attitude with the willingness to work hours that reflect the needs of the operation.
