THE JOB:
The Lead Automation and AI Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing advanced AI and automation solutions that drive operational efficiency and business productivity across the enterprise. As a key contributor to the Enterprise AI & Automation Center of Excellence, this role focuses on the end-to-end delivery of intelligent toolsβ€”including AI agents, Copilot extensions, and robotic process automation (RPA) solutions. The engineer will lead technical innovation efforts, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-impact deployments that align with strategic business goals.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Lead a team of engineers in designing, developing, and deploying enterprise-scale AI and automation solutions aligned with strategic business objectives.

  • Translate high-level goals into technical requirements in partnership with the Executive Director, driving initiatives such as Copilot extensions, Azure AI Foundry agents, and tenant-scoped RAG solutions.

  • Champion the adoption and implementation of automation platforms like UiPath and Power Automate to streamline operational workflows and enhance efficiency.

  • Collaborate with IT operations to deploy AIOps capabilities, including automated incident response, anomaly detection, and intelligent log analysis for improved system reliability.

  • Establish and maintain a secure governance framework for data access and usage, leveraging Microsoft Graph connectors and Entra ID ACLs.

  • Define and track success metrics for AI and automation initiatives, while supporting vendor relationships with key partners such as Microsoft and UiPath.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise technology with a strong focus on AI, automation, or IT operations; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

  • Deep expertise in AIOps frameworks and hands-on experience designing and implementing scalable AI and automation solutions across enterprise environments.

  • Proficient in leading AI frameworks such as LangChain, CrewAI, and OpenAI Agent SDK, along with Python ecosystems including Transformers, FastAPI, Haystack, and LlamaIndex.

  • Demonstrated success in delivering enterprise-scale digital transformation initiatives with measurable ROI and operational impact.

  • Strong command of the Microsoft ecosystem, including Copilot, Azure AI Search, Foundry, Entra ID, and the Power Platform suite.

  • Highly analytical and collaborative, with excellent communication skills, a proactive problem-solving mindset, and a commitment to continuous learning in the evolving AI/automation landscape.
