People Management

The HR Team Lead is responsible for the functional day to day management of the HRBPs. They co-ordinate HR functions in such a manner that they ensure all team members are working effectively and able to deliver tasks timeously. They also provide HRBPs with support on HR related organisational initiatives/ projects .

  

HR Reporting

This role is responsible for monthly reporting and the relevant metrics are shared with the HR Manager and other stakeholders when necessary.

Labour Relations

They investigate operational issues by working with line management to resolve disciplinary issues and/or labour disputes. The HR Team Lead coordinates the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problems and enquiries.  

  

Performance Consulting  

The HR Team Lead works together with line managers to identify work performance issues. The  root cause is detected in order to then develop and implement performance enhancement initiatives. Existing resources  (e.g. QA, training, peer-coaching etc) are also utilized. It is key to follow-up on a regular basis and monitor progress.

Training & Development

Once training needs are identified, the HR Team Lead  then schedules and delivers training and development courses. Participation in induction programmes is also a key responsibility in this position.

  

Organisation Development  

Identifying team and individual issues OD related issues pertaining areas such as culture, communication, performance and  leadership is critical for the HR Team Lead. If an issue/s is identified then they need to either develop or source appropriate interventions in order to monitor, improve organization, team and/or individual effectiveness. They also need to provide feedback on any dysfunctional behaviour or business practices to the relevant stakeholders.  

HR Administration

This role is expected to provide advice, assistance and follow-up on queries relating to company policies, procedures and HR documentation.  The HR Team Lead is expected to recommend, develop and maintain human resource databases, computer software systems, and manual filing systems.  

Continuous process improvement

The HR Team Lead should recommend operating policy and procedural improvements. This includes seeking new ways to improve HR Processes, procedures and practices.
