Head of Public Cloud

Betsson Group is now looking for a Head of Public Cloud Infrastructure to lead and evolve the backbone of our global platform in the public cloud space.

This leadership role is responsible for a broad and business-critical infrastructure domain spanning across public cloud platforms, system operations, cloud security and observability. To be successful in this role you will have a relentless continuous improvement mindset that scales teams, platforms, and business outcomes. You will lead multiple engineering leaders to shape the vision, operating model, and technical roadmap for cloud infrastructure at scale. This role partners closely with product teams, security, compliance, and business stakeholders worldwide to ensure our cloud infrastructure is resilient, scalable, secure, and cost-effective.

A taster of what you will be involved with: 

Leadership

• Inspire and encourage team engagement and delivery through your vision and actions.
• Drive modernization initiatives, including cloud adoption, IAC, automation, and platform standardization.
• Implement and evolve the target architecture across public cloud environments.
• Own the end-to-end infrastructure engineering capability in the public cloud platforms, aligned with business goals, regulatory and architectural requirements.

People & Organization

• Lead and mentor senior engineering managers and technical leaders across a large, distributed organization.
• Build high-performing teams with clear ownership, strong engineering culture, and operational excellence.
• Set goals, performance expectations, and career development paths for leaders and teams.

Operational Excellence

• Ensure high availability, performance, reliability, and scalability of all infrastructure services.
• Oversee cloud engineering with a strong focus on uptime and incident management.
• Establish best-in-class practices for observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
• Own capacity planning, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.

Cloud & Infrastructure Capabilities

• Lead cloud strategy and execution across public cloud platforms.
• Drive infrastructure-as-code, AI adoption, automation, and self-service capabilities for engineering teams.
• Balance innovation, security, and cost efficiency (FinOps mindset).

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner with engineering, product, security, compliance, architecture and commercial leaders across global markets.
• Act as a trusted advisor on infrastructure topics for senior leadership.
• Support regulatory, security, and audit requirements relevant to iGaming operations.

What we are looking for

• Extensive experience leading large-scale infrastructure or platform engineering organizations in complex, always-on environments.
• Proven track record leading leaders and technical teams.
• Strong understanding of high-availability systems, low-latency platforms, and global distributed architectures.
• Experience operating in regulated industries (iGaming, fintech, payments, or similar is a strong plus).
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills in a global, multi-cultural environment.
• A pragmatic, business-oriented mindset with the ability to balance risk, speed, and stability.
• Deep expertise across:
• Cloud platforms (AWS primarily)
• System and database operations
• Network technologies
• Observability and reliability engineering
