Role Summary

Reporting into the director of PMO, the Head of Delivery will join the Central PMO team. This role is part of the Polaris programme, a 3-year global finance transformation initiative aimed at strengthening Flutter Edge and achieving a $100 billion enterprise value.

This role will directly lead a high-performing team of six Programme and Project Managers, while indirectly influencing a broader PMO community. It will hold overall accountability for the successful delivery of a complex portfolio of interdependent programmes and projects across 200 finance and technical professionals.

The Head of Delivery holds end-to-end ownership of the integrated Polaris plan, across four programme pillars, setting the standard for clear, consistent programme communications and effective Polaris Programme Governance, including the management of risks, issues, and dependencies.

What you’ll do

  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead and inspire a team of Project and Programme Managers, encouraging their professional growth and aligning their efforts with Group Finance Strategy and Polaris goals. Set performance expectations, provide mentorship, and ensure the team has the resources and support to succeed.
  • Inspirational Leadership: Provide visible leadership for the Polaris PMO Delivery Team, setting a clear direction and delivering the PMO strategy, objectives, and Governance Playbook in alignment with the Finance organisation’s broader strategy and business goals. Lead the establishment of a unified, scalable delivery approach that drives consistency while empowering teams to adapt and thrive.
  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Champion a culture of continuous learning and improvement, drawing on insights both from the broader delivery community within Flutter and wider industry best practise.
  • Delivery Excellence: Maintain a relentless focus on the successful, on-time delivery of each wave of the multi-year Polaris Transformation Programme. Foster tight-knit collaboration across the central PMO and programme workstreams, embedding outstanding delivery practices that balance quality, pace, and long-term sustainability.
  • Internal Partner Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for delivery leadership on delivery strategy, progress, and challenges, fostering strong collaborative relationships across the programme.  This also will involve interaction with senior partners of the global organisation both within and outside of Finance.
  • Dependency and Risk Management: Overall responsibility for the identification, management, and mitigation of delivery risks and cross-programme dependencies, aligning to PMO governance standards to ensure timely escalation, effective resolution, and sustained delivery confidence across the portfolio.
  • Performance Measurement and Reporting: Help define and monitor standard delivery metrics, ensuring effective data-driven decision-making. Empower the team to highlight successes, trends, and areas for focus. 
  • Problem Solving : Serve as the escalation point for sophisticated delivery challenges, providing strategic and day-to-day guidance to resolve blockers and conflicts. 

What you’ll need

  • Confirmed experience as a Head of Delivery or similar role, ideally within a global technology-enabled transformation programme.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive project success.
  • A high energy approach to work, with an ability to positively influence others and to create a culture of sustainable delivery in a people focused environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Proficient in project management methodologies, with a track record of successful project and programme delivery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation.
  • An understanding of Oracle ERP and EPM systems, is desirable, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess project performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions.
  • Excellent partner management, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage optimally al all levels.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in deployment or project management roles, preferably within finance transformation initiatives.
  • Confirmed experience with Oracle ERP and EPM systems, including implementation and management is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of finance business processes and procedures.
  • Familiarity with US reporting and control obligations, as well as regulatory compliance requirements.
