Job Title: Gaming Operations Team Leader

Overview of the role:
The Gaming Operations team ensures that Betfair International customers remain safe and engaged. Operating within the International Commercial function, the team designs promotional mechanics, landing pages, onsite content, game launches, product support, and executes rigorous quality control processes across multiple tools. Regular review and adaptation to the evolving marketplace are key to the team’s success.
As the International Gaming Operations Team Leader, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring smooth execution of onsite content, promotions, risk management, and product initiatives internationally. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills to maintain high standards while coaching and developing team members. You will act as the primary escalation point for operational issues, drive operational excellence, and collaborate closely with Commercial, Technology, and Risk teams.
What you’ll do
Lead and manage a team of gaming operations professionals, setting clear objectives and expectations.
Mentor, coach, and train team members to develop skills and maximize performance.
Conduct regular 1-to-1s and performance reviews, providing structured feedback and career guidance.
Foster a collaborative, open, and high-performance culture.
Act as the main escalation point for operational issues, proactively resolving incidents and driving continuous improvement.
Oversee and coordinate the daily execution of content updates, promotions, and product initiatives.
Ensure adherence to quality control processes, governance standards, and operational best practices.
Optimize and manage operational tools, including IMS, CPP, Prismic, Trello, and other relevant platforms.
Collaborate with Commercial, Technology, and Risk teams to align operations with strategic objectives.
Communicate key operational updates to senior stakeholders with transparency and timeliness.
Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to optimize operations.
Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects aimed at improving efficiency and execution quality.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and risk management standards.
Conduct post-mortem reviews on incidents and implement improvements to enhance operational resilience.
Monitor team performance, identify efficiency opportunities, and implement process optimizations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of operational processes and best practices.
What you’ll bring:
Demonstrated experience in an e-commerce or digital operations environment, ideally in content, product, or operational roles. Gaming experience is a plus but not required.
Proven ability to lead and develop a team, setting clear objectives and driving performance.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with experience resolving operational issues.
Proficiency in operational tools such as IMS, CPP, Prismic, Trello, or other content management/CRM systems.
Ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Experience coordinating with commercial, technology, or risk stakeholders to deliver operational objectives.
Fluency in English (written and verbal).
