Overview of the role:

Flutter Studios comprises three of Flutter’s in-house studios together with Product, Technology and Operations teams with the collective objective to create industry leading casino game content exclusively for Flutter casino brands worldwide.

We are seeking a passionate, adaptive, Game Mathematician Team Lead who is ready to use Flutter Studios experience and skills to define the next generation of gaming.

This role follows a hybrid approach to working, allowing you to combine working from home with working in our modern offices. These discussions are between you and your manager to find the best pattern for you both, while recognising that quality time together is essential for keeping us mission-aligned.

What you’ll do:

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and delivery of mathematical models for slot games (RTP, volatility, hit frequency, feature mechanics)

• Remain hands-on: design, simulate, and validate models where needed

• Guide and mentor mathematicians and quant developers, providing direction, feedback, and support in their day-to-day work

• Own the quality, consistency, and performance of mathematical outputs across multiple games

• Drive best practices in simulations, balancing, and model validation

• Work closely with product, design, and engineering to ensure strong alignment from concept to delivery

• Ensure game mechanics are not only mathematically sound, but also engaging and commercially effective

• Support planning, prioritisation, and execution across the maths function

• Contribute to internal tooling and pipelines to improve speed of prototyping and iteration

• Use data and live performance insights to continuously improve game outcomes

What you’ll bring:

• Proven experience designing mathematical models for real-money slot games, across a variety of mechanics and game types

• Strong foundation in probability, combinatorics, and statistics

• Experience leading or mentoring others (formal or informal leadership)

• Hands-on experience building simulations and validating models

• Strong understanding of how math design impacts player experience and commercial performance

• Self-organised and outcome-driven mindset — able to manage priorities and deliver results with minimal supervision

• Proactive, “can-do” attitude — takes ownership, drives solutions, and pushes things forward

• Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders across disciplines

• Experience using AI tools to improve workflows, simulations, or prototyping

Nice to have:

• Programming experience (Java, Python, or similar)

• Understanding of certification requirements across different markets

• Experience contributing to or building internal tools/platforms
