Ready to influence how one of Australia's most recognised brands strengthens its financial crime control environment? As Financial Crime Controls Assurance Manager, you will provide independent oversight and challenge across critical financial crime controls while helping improve governance and risk outcomes across Tabcorp.
Your role
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Compliance and Assurance, you will lead financial crime controls assurance activities and help strengthen the effectiveness of key risk controls across the enterprise. Specifically, you will:
Develop annual Financial Crime Assurance Plans based on risk assessments, regulatory obligations and emerging financial crime risks.
Coach and support assurance team members in performing control assessments and assurance activities for Financial Crime.
Lead financial crime controls assurance reviews end to end
Conduct control walkthroughs across key processes
Assess compliance with AML/CTF Program requirements, regulatory obligations, internal policies and procedures.
Design and execute controls testing programs
Identify root causes and practical improvements
Draft assurance reports and communicate findings
Monitor remediation activities and action tracking
Support internal and external audits, regulatory reviews and independent reviews relating to financial crime compliance.
What you will need to succeed
You are an experienced assurance, audit or risk professional with strong stakeholder skills and a passion for improving controls. You will also possess:
Experience in controls assurance, audit or risk
Deep understanding of financial crime controls
Strong knowledge of AML/CTF legislation, AUSTRAC expectations
Strong understanding of financial crime risk management principles, including AML/CTF, sanctions, fraud prevention, customer due diligence, transaction monitoring and regulatory compliance
Strong investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience interpreting legislation, regulatory guidance and industry better practice.
Proven ability to assess control effectiveness
Strong stakeholder engagement and influence
Commercial and pragmatic risk mindset
Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on enhancing financial crime risk management capability
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience within highly regulated industries such as financial services, wagering, banking, gaming, payments or professional services.
Professional certifications desirable:
CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist)
ICA Advanced Certificate in AML or Financial Crime
CIA, CISA, CPA or CA
ACAMS Audit Certification (desirable)
