The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, controls, and performance management across the Rank Interactive business, while providing strategic financial support to senior leadership. You will report to the Head of Finance - Shared Services.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring strong financial governance, delivering high-quality financial insights, and supporting business decision-making for the Interactive business. The position is expected to operate as a senior finance leader, with the potential to evolve into a Head of Finance role, taking on increased ownership of the finance function and contributing to the overall financial strategy of the organisation.

Main Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

 

Financial Reporting & Control

  • Oversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting
  • Ensure accuracy, integrity and timeliness of financial information
  • Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee balance sheet integrity and reconciliation processes

Performance Management & Analysis

  • Lead financial performance reviews, including variance analysis and commentary
  • Provide clear insights into revenue, cost drivers and profitability
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning processes
  • Deliver financial models and scenario analysis to support strategic decisions.

Business Partnering

  • Act as a key finance partner to senior stakeholders and operational leaders
  • Provide financial guidance to support commercial initiatives and operational efficiency
  • Influence decision-making through data-driven insights and recommendations

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, manage and develop the finance team to ensure high performance and capability
  • Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and professional development
  • Support recruitment, succession planning and talent development within the finance function

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to financial governance, risk management and control frameworks
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks and control weaknesses
  • Support audit processes and ensure timely resolution of audit findings

Strategic Contribution

  • Support the development and execution of the finance strategy
  • Contribute to business planning, investment decisions and growth initiatives
  • Drive process improvements and efficiencies within the finance function

 What’s needed for success – Experience & Qualifications:

  • Fully qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in finance, with progressive leadership responsibility.
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, controls and performance management.
  • Proven ability to partner with senior stakeholders and influence decision-making.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management capability.
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills.
  • Experience in a multi-entity or shared services environment is advantageous.
